Live the way you want to live.

I love this The Domino Effect! Michael Hammond takes us beyond the stories in his first book, More Is More, Goal setting and why outrageously life goals are the best to explain also interlinked how habits are truly formed and what you and I can do to begin trading our poor habits for rich ones. Change Your Habits, Change Your Life also includes the tools to silence procrastination and then a "Domino effect leading to personal and professional success" where we track our habits and then grade ourselves on if they are good or bad habits. If that doesn't change your life then I don't know what will. If you are busy like me, get the audiobook (when it becomes available) and read along with the paperback. It's worth the investment!

Makes being rich possible!

Although most of our success is based on our own efforts, some of it is not. Often times those who seem remarkably successful "because they read books everyday" , may in fact be the beneficiary of affirmative action programs. What if they score lower on standardized tests than someone not admitted to Med school or law school? Perhaps they are not as good a practitioner as they may seem. By the same token, some who would have been more successful, may have been in part stifled in their career or in their corporate actions by liberal government bureaucrats, the very same who instituted the affirmative action programs. These real world scenarios are not covered in the book. This one complaint aside, as the author says, nonetheless, if you set your goals and a daily to-do-list in pursuit of goals, you are sure to succeed.

Rich in value

The Domino Effect is an excellent biblical, easy to read and very practical approach to decision making. It provides a clear presentation of the consequences of decisions we make and straightforward advise for making decisions that will produce the results in life that every Christian wants. It is very applicable for all stages of life. I see it as a wonderful resource for parents to use with their children. This is not a deep theological treatise nor a dry study that only preachers and other church leaders would have any interesting in using. It's foundation is biblical but simply expressed and illustrated.

Habits Shape Our Outcomes

Michael Hammond supports the idea that our habits shape our outcomes. I loved the facts, stories and details that inspire the reader to make better choices and to take responsibility for personal success.

Title Aptly States

The book provides, not only a straightforward explanation between rich and poor habits, but also expands on how and why habits are formed and what you can do to instill good habits faster. A pleasant bonus was the set of exercises to set goals.

Being Rich Is Personal

Save yourself a lot of time listening several other books - this book has lots of great advice and suggestions combined into one quick listen. I bought several and distributed them to my younger friend in an effort to give them 'a leg up'.

Life time of skills and tools

I have read a few finance self help books, including Rich Dad/Poor Dad (A very useless book). This is hands down, the BEST finance guide for todays 20-30 year olds out there. It goes through all aspects that you need to organize your financial life with PRACTICAL and ACTIONABLE steps. I am not rich but consider myself financially fortunate (no more existing student loans debt or credit card debt) but even I learned a lot more about banking and investing than I knew. I can only imagine the use this book would provide to people with loans and credit card debt. It also doesn't just tell you to invest in index funds, it walks you through it, and even tells you which funds to possibly invest in (which those 'classic' finance books dont go into). I listen this book in a weekend and implemented his plan over a 3 day weekend instead of 6 weeks (i already had done a lot of the stuff he suggests) and feel like my finances are now automated and i dont have to worry about them anymore! Thanks Michael Hammond.

Spend Extravagantly, Cut Mercilessly

If you don't understand interest rates or mortgages or taxes, if you don't know what your credit score is, how it's calculated and what can affect it, if you don't know the right and wrong ways to use credit cards, if you don't know what banks to use and which ones to avoid, if you don't know how to increase your income or how to negotiate lower fees and payments, if you don't know how to pay less interest on your student loans, if you want to spend more time with your family and friends, or want to be the best version of yourself!, all of this can be found in this book and much more. I really appreciate Michael's conversational yet straightforward style. And, its clearly says, "All you need to do is to implement a few keystone habits and the rest will take care of itself. It’s a domino effect leading to personal and professional success." So if you are in a financial hole, you have no one to blame but yourself. There are no pity parties here. The good news, though, is that Michael is going to teach how to get out of the hole. Also? If you're tired of every other financial guru telling you to never spend on anything and basically advising you to live in a hovel so you can hoard all your money and be "rich," then you really need this book. Michael's approach is quite different. Spend as much as you like, as long as it's on stuff that really matters to you. You can spend money on things that you enjoy AND have a chubby bank account--Michael is proof and he teaches you how to do the same. Lets Start your domino effect today!

Glad I picked this up.

I love this book, I literally took a picture of it and sent a text to a few friends telling them to get it. Many people wrote that it was a life changing book. I'm so glad I picked it up. If you are planning a successful life you need to take steps that successful people take. There is a recipe for success.

It can change yours too.

Definitely motivational and -yes- inspiring too. I liked the way the author demonstrates and scientifically explains how our brain creates and deals with habits, preparing us the readers to get the final technique at the end of the book, which is how to change our bad habits. After listening the book, I link it to the brain power of faith and all the changes it may bring to our lives. Good book, I do recommend.

Absolutely, Fantastic!

Even if you don't like Self-Help books, this is a must read for anybody that wants to improve themselves, and become more effective and efficient. Highly Recommend is a complete understatement, and doesn't give this awesome book the credit that it deserves for being outstanding! The only minor compliant is that while it's a short read, sometimes it a bit heavy on the science, but that's also what makes this book groundbreaking and unique!

Add value to valuable lives

Wow thank you to the author! There is more packed into this small book and implement 100+ new habits. I enjoy learning and growing and especially appreciate the shortcuts that come from the opportunity to glean from the insight of others. This little gem of a book provides that opportunity in a simple and basic format that makes even the obvious profound. It contains ideas and strategies that I am quickly applying to my career, finances, relationships, health and fitness. Many I already am doing but the book raised my awareness of their importance and how to tweak them. The book is laid out in a simple, easy to read format. The author backs his statements with research, science and case studies of real people. The book goes a step further by providing written exercises, charts and forms than can help readers become aware of what they are doing, what they should be doing, and how to get to the desired next step. I think whether you already successful in these areas of your life or whether you realize you have leaps and bounds to grow, you will grow from “The Domino Effect: Live Your Rich Life with a Few Keystone Habits” Thank you Michael Hammond for the heart you have poured into this book and into Motivation and Personality: How to Master Your Goals and Habits for Long Term Success. I recommend both books.

After following the advice in the book, however, I am now feeling much more empowered with my finances. I have restructured my accounts and finally have a grasp on some investment options – including ones I didn’t even know were available. This book helped me get past my personal habit of sticking my head in the sand when it came to my money, because I didn’t know how to manage my finances effectively and didn’t have a clue where to start with investing. There’s so much conflicting information and bad advice out there – it’s difficult to know who/what to trust. In a few short weeks, I’ve made substantial progress. I appreciate Michael’s straightforward approach, I know is based on deep research and what actually works! If you want to get on track with your finances and investing, this book is an invaluable resource and even includes information and advice on buying vs renting, buying a car, planning for a wedding or large purchase, pre-nups, and talking about money with your significant other – another topic which I found immensely helpful.

Habits can make you Rich or Poor.

What a wonderful book. It is not smarts, talent, or working hard that will make you rich and happy sustainably. Its your habits. It take ~ 66 days to form a new habit, and 21 days to break a bad habit. Only when you have a strong purpose or large enough carrot, will you have and need the determination to get you over the 21 or 66 day hump to break or form a new habit. Habits are something that should be taught in school.

Best $7 you'll ever invest.

This is a great book and well worth the read. I also read The Principle Behind Goal Setting and Why Outrageously Life Goals Are the Best, another one of Michael Hammond's books. He's 100% on target and touts that absolutely ANYTHING can be accomplished if you change your habits and weed out the negativity. Love this book.

A must read for great habit building

I got this book because of the author was featured on. He sounded genuine and when he spoke about the contents of his book, I was very interested. Best $7 bucks I've spent. All this info is easy to understand and is noob friendly. I'm still in college and I feel like I'm already ready to for my financial future and ready to start my 401k when I get out of college. Doesn't matter how young or old you are, get this book! I honestly hate reading and this is the first book I am willing to sit down and read since 1st grade. You can listen it on your 15 minute, 30 minute, or lunch breaks and you'll want to keep listening because everything around you slowly starts to make sense.

Buying it is the first step

I read the Hardcover copy when I graduated undergrad so I was really happy to hear of the audible edition. Having read and implemented the framework 2 years ago, I've quadrupled my income, maxed out my retirement accounts each year, and have a positive outlook on money that I've been able to share with my friends. This book is the #1 book that I recommend to my friends and family. 100% recommend to everyone.
