Story
Between tending to the whims of her seven-year-old and the demands of her boss, Viv barely gets a moment to herself. It’s not quite the life she wanted, but she hasn’t run screaming for the hills yet. But then Viv’s husband, Andy, makes his midlife crisis her problem. He’s having an affair with his (infuriatingly age-appropriate) colleague, a woman who - unlike Viv - doesn’t put on weight when she so much as glances at a cream cake. Viv suddenly finds herself single, with zero desire to mingle.

The laugh-out-loud best seller is back with the only book to buy this Mother's Day. Perfect for fans of Outnumbered and Carole Matthews, Fiona writes about life as it really is. Forget about having it all. Sometimes you just want to leave it all behind. Audrey is often seized by the urge to walk out of her house without looking back - but she can't possibly do that. She is a single parent. She is needed. She has a job, a home, responsibilities...and a slothful teenage son's pants to pick up.

When I got pregnant, Will and I didn’t have a clue what we were signing up for. It turns out that there’s loads we weren’t warned about. But even if I feel like I’m waiting for my motherhood powers to come in the post, at least I’ve got Will. Our old life - festivals, sambuca shots, an actual sex life - might be a distant memory, but we can get through anything together, can’t we? At least that’s what I thought until, one day, Will walked out on us.... If I’m on my own (apart from Siri, obviously) can I do this whole parenting thing?

Summary
The next gloriously uplifting book from the number one best-selling author of The Mum Who Got Her Life Back.
Suzy Medley is having the worst day of her life when a shaggy terrier suddenly turns up at her door.
Just like Suzy, Scout has been abandoned, although only Suzy has been left with a financial mess and a business in tatters thanks to her ex.
Suzy takes Scout in, and her chaotic world changes in unexpected ways: strangers have never been more welcoming, and her teenage kids can’t wait to come home to visit.
Then a chance encounter on a windy Hebridean beach makes things more complicated, because Suzy isn’t the only one who needs a friend.
Scout has plenty of love to go round...but does Suzy?
A wonderfully funny and uplifting story about friendship and second chances (and whisky!), perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella, Jill Mansell and Marian Keyes.

Rather disappointing
I had pre ordered this one and was really looking forward to it coming out.
I really thought I was going to love this book... I mean a love story built around a dog and Fiona’s books are normally very funny.
So unfortunately I’m rather disappointed.... the dog isn’t featured that much ... love story .... meh and it wasn’t in the least amusing.
I did enjoy the descriptions of the Island.
I don’t know if any of the editing staff listened to the end result of this audiobook... as there where about 8 places where the narrator repeated the sentence. These should have been edited out.

It’s a lovely easy read. However, the editing was terrible. There are several instances of repeated lines and occasionally the narrator states she will re do that again as there was a noise in the background...
