About this listen

An awkward, traumatized omega and a patient alpha determined to court him properly...fate has a way of righting old wrongs.

Stolen from his mother’s arms and reported stillborn at birth, Tom spent nearly 21 years in structured captivity with other stolen omegas. His brothers. A dozen omegas, each with a secret superpower, who now must learn a whole new skill - how to thrive in a modern world.

Not every brother emerged from their past unscathed, and Tom had the worst of it. His key to survival was a healthy respect for rules. Now that he’s free, he’s still a little bit obsessive and a whole lot compulsive. He’s got anxiety, fear of change...and a list of plans for his future.

None of which involved finding a fated mate.

But if they had? His plans definitely wouldn’t have been to meet his dream alpha while smelling of afterbirth and the blood of an enemy killed in defense of his pregnant brother - the same brother whose child he then had to deliver...post-shift and naked.

If he’d been planning, if he’d made a list and checked it twice, Tom never could’ve designed an alpha more perfectly devoted than the delicious one fate put in front of him during one of the craziest days of his life...an alpha so patient, he insists on courting the skittish omega.

The West Coast Wolves is an mpreg series about five alphas. A small pack of bikers who spent years riding the highways and helping those in need until fate gave them each a pack to lead. This full-length novel is Nick’s story. Prepare yourself for a romantic courtship, a perfect first kiss, and more feels and giggles than you can handle. But then again, this is a Susi Hawke book so what else can you expect?

Possible triggers for child abduction, trafficking both past and present, and haunting memories of past abuse that included both humiliation and the non-penetrative molestation of a teenager by a person in authority.

This is another great story from the West Coast Wolves series, After the rescue of the omegas in the prior book, the tale ended with a death, and a childbirth. This story starts there and follows the story of omega Tom, who has a healing gift, and Nick, one of the alpha former bikers who were given new packs in book 1. Tom has a tragic history, kidnapped as a baby and then traumatized by some of his captors' actions. As a result, he is shy, focused on planning and always following the rules, and experiences anxiety when things get overwhelming. Nick was so patient and understanding. He recognized that even though they were fated mates, Tom needed time to decide what he wanted. I loved Nick's approach, using the old tradition of courting. It gave him and Tom a chance to get to know one another better, and gave Tom the time to come to trust Nick. I absolutely loved the growth Tom experienced and how he triumphed over his past. The continuing story of the omega trafficking was also moved along, and more information is revealed about some of the other omega 'brothers.' There is some violence (a.k.a. justice) delivered wolf-style, but I liked that it was brief and not gory or graphic. I love the humor and banter between both sets of 'brothers', and between the mates. Even the violent scene was touched with humor. This is a great listen and I look forward to more in the series.

The narration by Nick Russo is fantastic. The voices for strong alpha Nick and shy Tom suited them perfectly, and the tone, pacing, and emotional delivery were perfect.

Hawk’s uncanny ability to give the reader a delightful storyline is shown in this one! Tom and Nick are both a delight and their chemistry is enjoyable. Russo once again delights listeners to his narration keeping the listener engaged and present in the storyline

I would count all of Nick J. Russo's narration's amazing, and this is no different. The actual story of babies being stolen from their parents and raised with numbers as names, in an actual barn, no less is horrifying. But to hear the stories of what happened to them was heartbreaking, especially this book. I was thrilled at how easy Nick made it for Tom to learn and grow and recover. It was very calming and warming to get into.

Thrilling!

I really enjoyed this book especially with how Nick meets Tom and his compassion to first date his mate before mating. Nick has to deal with a pack problem which ends with him going in a different direction.

Really enjoyed

Brilliant addition to already fantastic series by Susi Hawke. Tom and Nick were great to get to know and the journey with them was entertaining. Nick J Russo is a super star as always when it comes to narrators.
