This was my first Lilian Harris, and I was pleasantly surprised. The Devil's Deal is a terrific start to the Cavaleri Brothers series, a wonderfully written dark mafia romance. The Plot and character development are excellent; my attention was captured immediately by Chiara and Dominic's backstory. Chiara and Dominic were childhood friends but were ripped apart by one man's hate and evil actions. Dominic was Chiara's only friend; he and his loving family provided comfort and solace to her. Chiara's home life was broken; she was forced to endure cruelty from an abusive father, the boss of a mafia family. Cavaleri's lives were devastated by Chiara's father's deception and cold brutality. Dominic and his brothers have returned, no longer helpless children, grown and shaped by burning hate and thirst for vengeance. They are back to collect a long overdue debt owed. The question is will Dominic see Chiara as a victim or an accessory?
The storyline is well-paced and riveting, wrapped in suspense, betrayal, deceit, passion, and heat. The connection between Dominic was Chiara's magnetic and explosive chemistry. Both their characters are strong and highly appealing, and I really enjoyed their dynamics and how their story unfolded. I'm certainly going to be following the series.
Outstanding narration by Gideon Frost and Lessa Lambs. Their depiction and portrayal of the characters were great. They were authentic in their roles, making the story even more engaging. The Devil's Deal was an enjoyable listen. I'm recommending the Cavaleri Brothers to those interested in a hot and not-too-dark mafia romance.

As she gets older her father's cruelty become worse.
Dominic's family is the opposite kind and caring welcoming Chiara and her mum at the bakery when they visit.
The death of Dominic's mum in a car crash means the family pull together more if possible.
When Dominic's father and brother Matteo are late home from the bakery one day he goes to find them, but what he see's makes him call his brothers to pack their bags.
Years later he's about to put his long awaited plan into action, keeping his real identity secret he's unsure what to believe, have they both been deceived?.
I truly loved the book and listening to the audio by fantastic narrators was a brilliant way to enjoy it again.
I definitely recommend listening and reading this book.
