Great and intriguing story, strongly performance
Enjoyed this story, with well developed characters and story that had mystery and intrigue. It is quite relentlessly dark, so I did take breaks after about an hours listening at a time.

Not that special
Well narrated. Sadly I just didn’t find this story that special. As the author intended it is a Holmes like mystery and on that level it hits the mark. It’s just not a story I could fall in love with.

I wasn't disappointed!
I tried this book as I loved The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle. I was apprehensive as I knew it couldn't be a repeat in style but I love the mystery this author creates, as well as the historical settings. Would definitely recommend!

I LIKED the ending!
Loved the atmosphere, and the claustrophobic horror of this; and I understand why people were irritated by the ending - it feels like musical comedy after Grand Guignol. But I really enjoyed it. I love the possibility of redemption.

Great book (after a bit slow start)
This audiobook had somewhat slow start, I wasn't even sure I will finish it as I couldn't get hooked as I'd like to. After few chapters however, there was a point when everything changed and I couldn't stop listening. The plot was ever changing and with every chapter I was more and more intrigued to know more about the demon and all the characters. I really enjoyed the ending too.
The narrator's voice is very enjoyable and I liked the way he slightly changed for the characters.

Wow what a cool book!
This was great, the characters are brilliantly thought out and developed, the story rolls on nicely sprinkling in clues along the way without being immediately obvious who the culprit is and despite other claims I the reviews I found the end to be thoroughly satisfying. Great 'who dun it ' in the vain of Agatha and Doyle.

A great novel
I really enjoyed this book. It kept me enthralled all the way through. I love the depth of all the characters. The feel of the age they lived in and the clostephobia of the ship was fantastic.

Definitely a good book!
Sherlock Holmes meets The Count of Monte Christo. Brilliant twists and turns with interesting and colourful character. Very well penned. Thanks you!

Careless
God in heaven this was dull compared to the 7 deaths. And is it really THAT bloody hard for a trained actor to choose between Sarah and Sara and stick to it. Careless plot and careless narration. Pity!
