Newly minted doctor Jane McGill is in hell.

Not literally, of course. But between her drug addict patients, sleepless nights on call, and battling wits with the sadistic yet charming Sexy Surgeon, Jane can’t imagine an afterlife much worse than her first month of medical internship at County Hospital.

And then there’s the devil herself: Jane’s senior resident Dr. Alyssa Morgan. When Alyssa becomes absolutely hell-bent on making her new interns pay tenfold for the deadly sin of incompetence, Jane starts to worry that she may not make it through the year with her soul or her sanity still intact.

Completely different to Freida’s usual style but really enjoyed it. A great insight into working in a hospital, gave me an even greater understanding of how medical staff are pushed to the limits.

Very different

Not one of her best. Felt it was just a dairy of a new doctor. No suspense or thriller vibes.

Not one of Frieda’s best. 🫴🏼

it was a great read and the characters were good but I feel compared to the other books that I have read from this author this one didn't stand up. it ended very abruptly and it didn't feel much happened in the book at all I was always waiting for the wow moment that never came.

abrupt ending

i was disappointed the book ended as soon as it did. The peak of it was pretty modest, it could have gone further before all threads got resolved. Nothing was really unexpected, either. Overall feeling: ok.

I have liked the book but i expected more

An easy read with some laugh out loud moments but predictable ending. It was as if I was watching episodes of Grey’s anatomy!
