Golden Crown Literary Society 2022 Debut Novel Award Winner

Hitting rock bottom in the concrete jungle of Manhattan, investigative journalist Jamie Walker lands the assignment of a lifetime: find the most elusive artist of a generation, who has enthralled the art and fashion world for over a decade.

This assignment is supposed to finally be Jamie's ticket to journalistic fame and fortune. The quest, however, proves to be difficult, as—so far—nobody has managed to discover who the legendary DeVor really is.

As Jamie delves deeper into the mysteries surrounding the enigmatic artist, trying to salvage her stagnant career, she risks getting in over her head and losing her heart in the process.

Contains mature themes.

I'm so glad Milena McKay's books are being turned into audiobooks as well. She has a gift for crafting such intricate stories with detailing that draws you into each scene. Couple that with the talents of Abby Craden, I feel like I'm listening to a movie! With my mind visualising the scenes.

I enjoyed the concept of the fashion industry taking its lead/inspiration from art. Not sure if it actually works like that in reality. This is an age gap romance, with the angst being driven from realistic experiences as opposed to miscommunication between the MCs that we often come across in other books. And both MCs show depth of character, display strength and stand up for each other in their own way.

Abby's sultry voice for Vivian is beautiful. I was hooked. Especially the way she says Jameson. AC is one of my favourite narrators and I have a number of books narrated by her. I'm pleased to hear a slightly different voice here in that of Vivian.

Can't wait for the audible version of Whisper of Solace. Please record and release that soon! Hopefully with either Abby Craden, Angela Dawe or Lori Prince as narrator.

Delicately woven indeed

Milena has a unique way of romance storytelling, her characters and writing are classical in that you are experiencing every ounce of their beings with a story that is deep and fulfilling, beautifully crafted, and oh so sexy on another level. Now add Abby Craden and the new husky tones she has put voice to, Vivian is alive in glorious HD. I first read this book as a fanfic and it stole my heart then, it’s now all grown up into such a wonderful first book and audiobook. Who should read or listen?..everyone.. do both!!

Incredible.
