I made three false starts with this story. The breathless voice of the narrator put me off, but I knew this author was good and I was glad I persevered to the end. Brilliant story, kept me wanting to hear more.

Great story from a brilliant author

The narrator was dreadful. The story mediocre. I can’t recommend this book. I persevered but I am sorry that I bothered.

This is the second VK novel to which I've listened and the format and plot lines seem to run quite similarly to the first.
That being said, it's full of twists and turns and I changed my mind as to who the culprit was almost every other chapter.
I actually felt quite angsty at times, feeling the main protagonist's fears.
I felt the story was very good but the one thing that almost stopped me from continuing past Chapter 3 was the narrator.
I really didn't warm to her at all but fortunately, the storyline drew me in enough to keep me interested to the end.

I stuck with this desite the terrible narrator. I love all of this authors books. This one was a little predictable, but still enjoyable.

I was really looking forward to this audiobook, but unfortunately, I couldn’t get past the narration. The narrator’s voice was overly breathy and the delivery felt so unnatural that I found it distracting rather than engaging. Instead of drawing me into the story, the exaggerated style made it difficult to concentrate on what was being said. I appreciate that narration is a matter of personal taste, but this simply didn’t work for me, and I had to stop listening. Such a shame, as I had hoped to enjoy the book.
