Summary
When your Monday morning begins with a dead dog and ends with a dead boss, you know it's going to be one of those days. And breakfast TV reporter Cora Baxter has already had the weekend from hell, where the man she'd planned a fabulous future with unceremoniously dumped her.
Now Cora's much-hated boss has been murdered. The list of suspects isn't exactly short, but as the enquiry continues, the trail leads frighteningly close to home. Why is Cora's rival - glamorous, bitchy newsreader Alice Lomas - so devastated by their boss' death? What dark secrets are Cora's camera crew hiding? And why has her now ex-boyfriend vanished?
The race to stop the killer striking again is on....
Jackie Kabler worked as a newspaper reporter and then in television news for 20 years, including nearly a decade on GMTV. She later appeared on BBC and ITV news, presented a property show for Sky, hosted sports shows on Setanta Sports News and worked as a media trainer for the armed forces. She is now a presenter on shopping channel QVC. Jackie lives in Gloucestershire with her husband, who is a GP.

Cozy mystery with a touch of romance
Full of humour with a strong cast of characters. Very enjoyable combination of murder mystery and romance.

I only got this because I really like listening to Zara Ram! I finished it far too quickly and am looking forward to book 2!

Disappointing
This looked like my kind of book but it was very disappointing. The characters are vacuous and there is so much unnecessary mention of designer clothes. I always thought that the presenters of TV news shows would be clever and interesting but now I am looking at them in a new light. I hope it isn't true. The narrator had a bland voice and everyone sounded the same.

Very poor story
I don’t often write review but had to for this, it’s sold as a Cora Baxter mystery which suggests that there is some sort of mystery which is solved via Cora Baxter however 95% of the story is a very poor
‘Romcom’ no clues or mystery, would have returned but bought as part of 2 for 1 so couldn’t

Bought this because of the narrator
I bought this because I love listening to Zara Ramm, who once again did a fabulous job bringing the characters to life. Characters that were already well written and recognisable, albeit some of them acted in barely believable ways to fit the story. I thought the middle of the book dragged a bit with nothing much happening but the plot delivered a few little twists at the end. I will definitely listen to another book by this author. On the whole very enjoyable.

boring, clichéd and too long
Don't waste your time on this, really dull and unlikeable characters. I persevered hoping for improvement but there is none.

Directionless rambling
What can I say? This is badly written and badly narrated. The characters are lacking in all dimensions, like paper cut-out figures. And the whole thing rambles on without structure, meaning or anything to help you engage.
