Summary

From New York Times best-selling author Gena Showalter comes the long-awaited story of Torin, the most dangerous Lord of the Underworld yet... Fierce immortal warrior. Host to the demon of Disease. Torin's every touch causes sickness and death - and a worldwide plague. Carnal pleasure is utterly forbidden, and though he has always overcome temptation with an iron will, his control is about to shatter.

She is Keeleycael. The Red Queen. When the powerful beauty with shocking vulnerabilities escapes from a centuries-long imprisonment, the desire that simmers between her and Torin is scorching. His touch could mean her end, but resisting her is the hardest battle he's ever fought - and the only battle he fears he can't win.

Boring narrator

I'm afraid the narrator really affected this for me. He sounds too much like an informational video and it is sometimes so confusing who is speaking! His narrating voice is also almost identical to Torin's even though Torin sounds oddly American-British?
Eh.

The Darkest Touch - Long Awaited & Worth the Wait

Any additional comments?

Other than Paris' story, Torin's has been the one I have anticipated the most. My mind was very skeptical how Gena S was going to pull this off while being believable and enjoyable. Without a shadow of a doubt, she hit this one out of the park, hands down. Keely is the only one who has come close to knocking Ashlynn off of her top spot as my fave. Normally it annoys me when so much of the book is dedicated to others in prep for their stories to come, but I liked it this time around. And I am hoping when we get Cameo's story, that Lazarus will be her other half, I liked the two of them together.

Though I will say I was a little sad because it feels like the series is coming to an end. On one hand I do want it to but on the other I am hoping we get some of the other Lords stories, the ones we have met along the way who were not a part of the original 13.

Lords Of The Underwold - A Great Series! 👍👍👍👍

What made the experience of listening to The Darkest Touch the most enjoyable?

FINALLY, being able to hear Torin's story! From the beginning of the series, you can't help but to empathize with his character because he has the "worst" demon.

Who was your favorite character and why?

That is hard for me to say, I love ❤️ all of the Lords of The Underworld. In this story, besides Torin, it would be the Red Queen. She acted really tough; however, on the inside she was insecure about herself due to her past.

Would you listen to another book narrated by Max Bellmore?

Absolutely! He does project feelings into the characters and you are able to easily identify the character by his voice. 👍👍👍

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Touching the demon from within!

Any additional comments?

Anytime I come across a great series, I suggest them to my husband and friends. They ALL agree, this is a great series (even my husband who is a hard critic!) If you like PNR, then I highly recommend you read this series. 😃

My Sign: Cancer.

At last the long awaited book of Torin and in the spirit of LOU it rocks. This book is way better than the last book and was written more like the earlier books in this series. At the end of the last book I was afraid that the girl for Torin wasn't going to be the right woman for Torin, but that isn't the woman Torin ends up with. The Red Queen fits Torin perfectly, but not to worry their romance did not start off without a struggle. I liked Keeleycael immensely she is spunky and full of life. It is refreshing to see someone not afraid of Disease, even if she keeps getting burned by him. As always I'm a fan of LOU series and this book is no exception. I am impatiently awaiting Cameo and Lazarus story, I think there will be fireworks in that story. My favorite book is still Anya's and Lucien's book. Narrator as always does an excellent job with his sexy voice.

I almost gave up on this series - so glad I didn't

After a few missteps (Paris and Kane) this series seems to be back on track and better than ever. It’s just a steamy has the earlier books and to the writing style that made me fall in love with these characters in the first place. I’ve been anxious to hear Torin’s story and it is by far one of my favorites. The Red Queen is just as sassy as Anya which made this one so much fun. I can’t wait for the next installment and to see what Ms. Showalter has in store for Cameo.

The ONLY thing I did not thoroughly enjoy was Lazarus' voice...just too loud compared to everything else, for me personally

Simply AMAZING

This book should come with a warning “GENA SHOWALTER WILL RUIN YOU FOR OTHER AUTHORS”. Torin and Keely has an amazing storyline and Keely is one of my favorite female characters of all time. Showalter is able to create strong, nuanced, layered characters. This book will make you laugh and keep you on the edge of your seat. Also, the beginning with Wilson is my FAVORITE.

First book I've listened to in the series

This is book 11 of the Lords of the Underworld series but the first I've listened to. I was able to enjoy this book without having listened to the previous books, although I am aware there is history between characters in this book that is revealed in previous books. These gaps did not hinder my enjoyment or understanding of this book, but I'm sure knowing the history would have enhanced my experience.
This was an exciting story, with strong, fascinating characters. Keeleycael is a strong heroine, which is refreshing, and Torin is the kind of hero you root for and the perfect match for Keeleycael. I enjoyed their banter throughout the book.
I look forward to enjoying more books in this series.
