Summary

In the latest installment of the Dalai Lama's Cat series, His Holiness' Cat ('HHC') is on a mission: to think less, to experience more, to live in the moment. She soon learns the proper phrase for this: being mindful, or a concept better known to her as the power of meow. What ensues is a journey to discover her own true nature, to gain a deeper understanding of her mind, and to experience life's greatest joy: the here and now.

Throughout, she shares encounters with familiar inhabitants of Dharamsala as well as a whole new cast of characters: a senior exec from one of Silicon Valley's most famous social media companies (hint: the name rhymes with 'litter'), the Pope's beloved dog (who shares a shockingly similar title: HHD, His Holiness' Dog), and a public health inspector who threatens to have our poor narrator banned from the Himalaya Book Café.

In this follow-up to The Dalai Lama's Cat and the Art of Purring, listeners can escape to the enchanting and exotic world of the Dalai Lama's monastery in the Himalayas and take a peek inside the mind of a delightfully imperfect creature on the path to enlightenment. By accompanying HHC on her journey, you will learn new ways to relate to your own mind: slowing down, finding peace, and abiding in the boundless radiance and benevolence that is your own true nature.

More Joy and Enlightenment from the Dalai Lama’s Cat

The 3rd of these exceptional warm, entertaining yet powerful adventures of the Dalai Lama’s Cat.
I am already hoping for a fourth instalment.
I wholeheartedly recommend that you read these books. I have gained so much joy and enlightenment from them.
As a novice meditator they have helped inform me and keep my sense of meditation purpose on track.
As a general reader the adventures of the Dalai Lama’s Cat are so beautifully told that would appeal to anyone who enjoys a fantastic read.

Thought provoking teachings told by endearing cat

I bought all 4 of this series near the beginning of LOCK-DOWN for the COVID19 virus, and have read them several times. They could not have come at a better time. With all the terrible news and suffering being broadcast on the TV, from around the world, it's been nice having something very therapeutic to listen to. The narrators voice is so calming and easy to listen to, it makes it a real pleasure to just concentrate on the messages, subtly being delivered through the pages of the books. This one would also have a 5 for its story, if it wasn't for the necessary repeats of parts of earlier stories to inform new readers with background information. There is nothing really different in the books. They continue the growth and lives of the people in earlier books and introduces new characters as required. But each book brings out the Buddhist way of looking at many different situations and hopefully, help people to get the best out of their lives. Basically: making other people happy will make you happy. Lovely, thoughts, lovely teachings and great therapy at a time of major angst around the world. Why are we all not such caring people as the Buddhists in these books?

Wonderful!

the Dalai Lama's Cat series of books are absolutely delightful.
I try to eek them out so that they don't finish too quickly - not easy!
David Michie's narration brings HHC (the cat) to life. I think he must have been a cat in a previous life as he seems to have such a fantastic understanding of just how and what a cat might say and do.
I have only one DLC book left. I am saving it as I really do not want this series to end.
Thank you David Michie ❤️🙏

Meditation for Dummies

The author cleverly weaves instructions on how to meditate in between his tale of the inhabitants of the city and their interaction with the famous feline.

A pleasure to listen to.

Is a Sequel Coming? I Hope So!

This is the third, and so far last, book of the Dalai Lama's Cat series. Because new characters are added throughout the series, while the original characters remain and change, the stories' pace quickens through the series. It's still perfect, in my opinion, both the author's narration and the story itself.

A couple of points to ponder: One is that if you decide to listen to and/or read this series, begin with Book One and take them in sequence. Otherwise, much of it won't make sense, which would be a shame.

Another point is that I don't know if another sequel is planned, but I certainly hope so. This book introduces you to many interesting characters and continues the storylines begun in the earlier books, but leaves many loose ends. For that reason, I hope that the series is continued. We'll have to wait and see.

The Power of Meow, book 3 in a fun teaching series

Hopefully you have started with book 1 and also read book 2 of this series. The story line is excellent because the author is a keen observer of felines and humans, and canines too.

The life lessons that are included within the story are brilliant choices and there was one lesson in one of the 3 books that resulted in instant recognition and some reflection on my interactions with people and poor choices I have made - and recognition may help me behave better in the future.

There are many threads woven into the saga, and the one about reincarnation and the same people and animals incarnating into subsequent lifetimes was fascinating.

The bonus, of course, is the gentle teaching about meditation and its benefits, and the practical teaching of meditation too.

Beautifully narrated, professionally produced, a real pleasure to listen to.

I Want More!!!

These are the best books I've read in years. I've read all 3 numerous times & just keep on learning. This is where I began meditating & learning a nonviolent way of resolving conflicts.
