About this listen

What does it mean to be a great father? And how do you become one? Parenting is a role filled with meaning and purpose, but every dad needs guidance: because fatherhood is not a one-off, it is something you do every day.

Instead of a parenting book you listen to once as a sleep-deprived new parent, The Daily Dad provides 366 accessible meditations on fatherhood, one for each day of the year. Drawing quotes from history, literature and psychology, bestselling author Ryan Holiday—a father of two himself—has crafted a daily practice that will help dads old and new to find inspiration and advice. Each entry offers a memorable lesson on being
the role model your child needs, rooted in timeless principles.

From Socrates to Martin Luther King Jr., ancient philosophy to contemporary figures, The Daily Dad collates wisdom from around the world to help every dad face the day-to-day challenges in the lifelong job of parenting, and ultimately become the best father they can be.

ah, ok - the words remaining prompt is confusing - but I'm not rewriting that as separate words.

as I said, I just went straight through it as I'm used to reading a lot more of RH's longer bits where there's a bit more story. Pausing an audiobook, especially in the car on the way to work every day is not something that I want to do.
quite a few of the stories and have been reused from other books and repurposed in this context, which I am not necessarily saying is about thing, but it has made me realize that is an economy of scale to writing books.

complete narration by RH would have been nice, I am not 100% sure what he was trying to achieve by outsourcing it to other people.

worth a credit and I'll re-read when I'm a dad

A good read

Very inspiring to become better parent, I loved the format of short meditations. Highly recommended

Amazing

The principles are good common sense but the content has been badly managed within the audio book. Each day starts in the middle of the other one.

Good principles but…

I appreciate every single word written by Ryan Holiday here. Thank you for the efforts to write a book which every single parent must read. It’s moms and dads. I love it and I will re-listen very often.

Thank you, Ryan!

I wish it wasn't so political and the author wouldn't use examples of coke heads and warmongers as examples to follow. Too little good information and too much woke politics

Boring and scatty
