I got this book as a break from my usual sci-fi, urban fantasy stories, and felt a little apprehensive about it. How wrong I was! The performance from the narrators; the tension, drama, and constant surprises - this was the book that kept on giving. My husband normally hates when I have audiobooks on but even he became invested in this story. I cannot wait for more of this from the Secret Barrister.

Loved it! Found it quite gruesome at first but it was so well written I couldn’t stop listening. I loved the different characters and how they were narrated. This made it all come alive. Lots of intrigue up until the end!

What I really enjoyed about this audiobook was the way it was presented. The use of different voices for the various characters particularly the defendant, the accused, and those involved in the trial, brought the story to life in a way that made it incredibly engaging to listen to.

It felt immersive and dynamic, almost like listening to a dramatized performance rather than a standard narration. The pacing and delivery kept me interested throughout, and it made the legal tension and character perspectives much more compelling.

Overall, it was thoroughly enjoyable and very easy to stay absorbed in from start to finish.
