Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes. It's unbelievably good value, and I cannot imagine any fan of Sherlock Holmes being disappointed by this.
I imagine a fair few listeners will be in a similar position to my own - they will have read the four novels and a broad sample of the short stories, and have decided to work through the entire canon in publication order, revisiting many, and encountering some for the first time.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The main two, naturally.

Which character – as performed by Simon Vance – was your favourite?

I'm deliberately reviewing this before finishing the complete book. So far I've just listened to the first two novels (A Study in Scarlet and The Sign of the Four), but am looking forward to meeting Moriarty, Irene Adler and all the other favourites. Simon Vance distinguishes all the characters by voice, making it very easy to follow.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Not yet, but I was surprised at how interesting the scenes without Holmes or Watson are.
I'm particularly looking forward to the "We're not jealous of you" speech by Lestrade in The Six Napoleons - that was performed so brilliantly in the Jeremy Brett version.

Any additional comments?

I wouldn't normally review a book I haven't finished, but getting such a superb reading of the first two novels for a single credit means the book has already earned top marks across the board. The fact that we get every other ACD Sherlock Holmes story as well is simply icing on an exceedingly good cake.

An excellent purchase
