I was a little nervous after reading the reviews but I loved the performance and the story.
One review said it sounded like the man was reading a story. Surely that is what he is supposed to be doing, reading a story, to me, and it’s great. Are people expecting him to sing it???
Also, as I am from Nottingham, it’s nice to hear the slang and for it be read with the correct internation. It sounds like home.
His accents and the way he switches between northern and southern is brilliant, Im married to a Surrey boy so have a long of experience of both.
The story is twisting and interesting, the performance is spot on and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I wasn’t sure at the start of the first book , the narrator seemed to sound like he was just reading from the book , no feeling , but then the characters came in more and then these books ended up being amazing ..

Unfortunately the poor Yorkshire accent for the main character who was supposed to be from Nottingham ruined this for me. Poor narration but otherwise, good writing.
