Twangy musaz

Great story - one of my favourite John Grisham books. Read well, but why oh why the twangy musaz? Really, really did not enhance the audiobook at all and very irritating. Well chosen music can enhance a story though personally I prefer pure spoken word - but this music choice really spoilt the book for me. A real shame as such a great book by such a great author.

Sound quality and random mood music

Whilst the story is brilliant (which people generally know, since this is from around the early 90s), the audio recording is lacking in terms of the quality of sound (muffled, goes quiet a lot) and the fact that the producers decided that adding in random mood music was a good idea. It was not.

The voice artist does a good job with the dialogue, but the overall quality just isn't great.

Who needs sound effects?

Sound effects and music - which didn’t fit my interpretation of the plot, ruined the experience for me. But for the fact it was a John Grisham story, I would have returned the book.
