Most people don't realize how much unresolved emotional pain they carry around. They don't know why they always feel depressed, anxious, victimized, or disappointed. They wonder why they keep making the same self-sabotaging impulsive decisions. These patterns often stem from their lost inner child, which carries a false narrative that has been on repeat since childhood.

Story
What is a narcissist? These people are part of what’s called the dark triad – a group of people that fall under the personalities of a narcissist, psychopath, or sociopath. Some might say that narcissism is an act of self-love, but this is not at all the case. A narcissist is not easily influenced by day-to-day experiences like you and me. Experiences in daily life come with ups and downs, and these often help us in our daily lives to become more mature emotionally and psychologically.

Codependency is not a diagnosis, but rather an unhealthy, one-sided relationship dynamic. It can range from very subtle to quite extreme, when a person makes terrible sacrifices just to earn their partner’s approval. Codependency can be hard to recognize. This is why you need to know its early signs so that you can take action immediately - especially if your partner is a narcissist. Recovering from a codependent relationship with a narcissist can take years and seriously undermine your mental health, so run away as soon as possible!

They believed in a model where each partner contributed equally and fairness ruled, but, in reality, they were finding that balance near impossible to achieve. From this frustration, they developed the idea of the 80/80 marriage, a new model for balancing career, family, and love.

Summary
Brought to you by Penguin.
The breakthrough million-copy international best seller about how to befriend your inner child to find happiness.
Everyone longs to be accepted and loved. Ideally, during childhood, we develop the self-confidence and sense of trust that will help us through life as adults. But the traumas that we experience in childhood also unconsciously shape and determine our entire approach to life as adults.
In The Child In You, best-selling author and psychologist Stefanie Stahl shares her proven approach for working with - and befriending - our inner child. Powerful, imaginative and practical - with clever exercises, from the three positions of perception to over-writing old memories - she shows how by renouncing our 'shadow child' and embracing our 'sun child,' we can learn to resolve conflicts, form better relationships, and find the answer to (almost) any problem.
