About this listen

Leading New Testament scholar Robert M. Price has taken umbrage at the cavalier manner in which Rev. Lee Strobel has misrepresented the field of Bible scholarship in his book The Case for Christ. Price exposes and refutes Strobel's arguments chapter-by-chapter. In doing so, he has occasion to wipe out the entire field of Christian apologetics as summarized by Strobel. This book is a must-read for anyone bewildered by the various books published by Rev. Strobel.

Thoroughly entertaining scholarly rebuttal to some apologist guff you most definitely do not need to read to get a lot out of this book. Dr. Price is brilliant and funny. Until more audiobooks are available, search out the Bible Geek podcast.

Dr. Price is a competent and very widely read academic who presents the reader with all the relative arguments and sources. The reader will definitely feel that they have the necessary facts to come to their own ingormed conclusion. At times Dr. Price is just a tad uncharitable with his interlocutors and occasionally he projects nefarious intentions to them. This is understandable given some of the dubious arguments he must deal with and the arrogance they are sometimes presented with. Still, it doesn't help his argument any and the hostility may convince fence-sitters that he is too sacrilegious to be trusted. That would be unfortunate because the book is otherwise a treasure trove of theological and historical insight. Well done!

Witty, compelling and dripping with sarcasm.

A fantastic, clear and well-reasoned antidote for The Case For Christ. I've read and reread this book several times, and I'll definitely revisit it again in the future.

For some reason Strobels original annoyed the living day lights out of me. I know the claims he is making are nonsense based on hazy memories of books long ago read. here Price has done a great job pulling together those ancient texts that lay bare the scandalous hatchet job Stroble originally created.

facinating
