Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

A hilarious fantasy, perfect for ages seven and up, by master storyteller Terry Pratchett - the first book he ever wrote!

In the beginning, there was nothing but endless flatness. Then came the Carpet....

That's the old story everyone knows and loves (even if they don't really believe it). But now the Carpet is home to many different tribes and peoples and there's a new story in the making.

The story of Fray, sweeping a trail of destruction across the Carpet, and two brothers, who set out on an adventure to end all adventures.

Great story with great narration

The Carpet People is a book co-written by the young Terry Pratchett and the older Terry Pratchett. It's a small gem and, as all Pratchett books, can't be recommended enough.

Mr. Tennant's narration is absolutely brilliant! Now that Penguin Audio is re-recording Pratchett's books, they should get David Tennant to read as many of them as possible.

I wish I could give this six stars!

I am a long, long standing fan of Sir Terry Pratchett and have read this wonderful book many times, but David Tennant’s excellent reading has made it even better. Will listen to this many times again I am sure.

Wonderful narration!

I have always loved Terry Pratchett, and when I heard David Tennant was reading I had no choice but to sign up!

Wonderful to listen to - the voices were just right, and Tennant clearly understood and enjoyed both the story and Pratchett's trademark humour.

Now do the whole Discworld series please Mr Tennant... or at least the Bromeliad!

Such fun and fabulously narrated. David Tennant is completely wonderful and I have loved Terry Pratchett all my adult life. These books are like a comfort blanket and David brings them to life beautifully.

A Brilliant Telling Of An Old Favourite

The Carpet People has been one of my favourite books for 20-odd years. David Tennants narration is brilliant and I recommend this audiobook to any Pratchett fan.

First Pratchett I've read - not bad

And I'll read more based on this. For the longest time I've viewed Terry Pratchett as Douglas Adams-lite. It's put me off exploring his work. I finally decided to get over my prejudice and read this 1971 work of his, as suggested in various places online. It's made me want to go on and try a Discworld book, despite not being 100% there for me. It was ok and especially for what I understand to be his first novel, it's not bad. I get a feeling for his style which falls somewhere between Adams and Iain M Banks-lite.
