An actor’s dream job becomes an agent’s deadly nightmare.
The Call Back is the second book in the British crime thriller series featuring retired safe cracker, Mickey Blake.
MICKEY BLAKE RETURNS
Two years after the dramatic events in Skegness, Mickey returns to the Midlands to start a legitimate business. He’s determined to go straight and win over Hazel, the woman who helped him survive his last heist. But an obsessed police officer, a complicated love life, and his son’s desperate situation mean Mickey’s new life is anything but quiet.
A SON IN TROUBLE
Mickey’s son, Liam, is a successful talent agent with his own business on the verge of a lucrative merger with a huge agency. But when an ex-client with a violent past is released from prison and blackmails Liam to arrange a secret meeting with rising star, Trent Williams, things turn deadly. Now it isn’t just Liam’s business on the line, but the lives of everyone he cares about.
Mickey, Liam, and Hazel are back in this heart-pounding follow-up to Safe Hands.
I enjoyed the narration, and subtle comedy moments, while at the same time, enthralled by how the story would end. Looking forward to the next chapter (if there is one), or whatever comes next from this author. A great read/listen!
Great storytelling
