About this listen

You follow the hidden creek towards a long-forgotten house. They call it Keepsake, a place full of wonder...and danger.

Locked inside the crumbling elegance of its walls lies the story of the Butterfly Summer, a story you've been waiting all your life to hear. This house is Nina Parr's birthright. It holds the truth about her family - and a chance to put everything right at last.

"Harriet Evans is a master at creating characters you feel like you know inside out." ( Heat)

It was an interesting story- a love story type saga that spanned generations. The voice of the younger narrator was irritating however- rhyming 'book' with 'suck'?

Good story- childlike narrator.

I'm always disappointed when the narrator attempts to do the accents, unfortunately the dodgy American and 'terribly posh' interpretation (which is constant for the characters) made it difficult to get into, i'm surprised they didn't ditch the accents. It's a shame as its a good story. I'm midway through but tempted to read the book instead.

Interesting storyline but probably best to read rather then listen

Ive enjoyed listening to other Harriet Evans books and hoped this would the same . It was beautifully narrated but I found the story line rather dull and long winded. It was ok but I found I didn’t really get into the book and I only persevered with it due to brilliant narration

Bit disappointing

storyline struggled at first to follow the story and what was going on but I did enjoy it in the end and with a nice ending. The narrators were very good with the voices they used for different characters.

Lovely.....

Don't think you can predict anything in this book, it doesn't conform to the stereotypical chick lit storyline.
Juanita McMahon in particular gives a marvellous performance. At one point I thought that a third narrator had been introduced so convincing were her male characters

Loved this book
