Summary

Brought to you by Penguin.

The irresistible new romantic comedy from the number one bestselling author. Discover the joy that awaits when you set yourself free...

Sasha is well and truly over it all: work (all-consuming), friendships (on the back burner), sex-life (non-existent). Sasha has hit a brick wall.

Armed with good intentions to drink kale smoothies, try yoga and find solitude, she heads to the Devon resort she loved as a child. But it's off-season, the hotel is falling apart and now she has to share the beach with someone else: a grumpy, stressed-out guy called Finn. How can she commune with nature when he's sitting on a rock, watching her? Especially when they don't agree on burnout cures. (Sasha: manifesting, wild swimming, secret chocolate bars; Finn: drinking whisky.)

But when curious messages start appearing on the beach, Sasha and Finn are forced to begin talking - about everything. What's the mystery? Why are they both burned out? What exactly is 'manifesting', anyway?

They might discover that they have more in common than they think...

Just a bit…. Meh

Characters are annoying and unrelatable. Story v unbelievable and cheesy. Didn’t really care what happened. Listened out of obligation to finish it rather than enjoying it. Wouldn’t recommend. Beautifully narrated

Brightened my dark days

Whilst the story was a tad predictable at times, it really didn’t seem to matter. The subject of “burnout” was very well observed (and truly relatable), and the one-liners and the performance were pitch perfect. All in all it made for a big warm hug of a book!

Loved it

Love a Sophie Kinsella story. They never fail to lift my spirits.
The story was a little predictable but chick lit usually is and I still enjoyed every minute of it. Loved the characters. Narration was great too 🙂

A breath of fresh air

Loved this book, it was a lovely story without being cheesy. I also found the work/burnout elements relevant, the story was dotted with humour throughout and it brought back my own memories of summer hols at the seaside of the past. Perfect narration too, what's not to like?

Funny and made me smile

A light hearted book that made me laugh out load. It was a fab alternative to all the detective and thriller books I have listened to.

Enjoyable, feel-good chick lit

A very enjoyable book, with plenty of funny moments and characters - just what I have come to expect of this author (am a big fan of undomestic goddess and shopaholic series). The narrator did a fantastic job of bringing the characters to life.

She understands Burnout!

This book was clearly written by someone who truly understands burnout- how it messes with your head, your body and your will to do anything other than the bare minimum; how overwhelming the silliest things are and how you could make the stupidest decisions out of pure exhaustion. Really enjoyed it.

Frustrating

The main character is so frustrating, she is not funny neither cute, she is just embarrassing and cringy. I cannot finish this book. I love other Sophie Kinsella's books but this one is dissapointing.
