Summary

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of The Burning Maze by Rick Riordan, read by Robbie Daymond.

I was a god once. Until I was cast out by my father, Zeus. Now I'm an awkward mortal teenager called Lester.

My way out? A series of scary and dangerous trials, of course. For my third mission, I must:

Journey through the Labyrinth to free an Oracle who speaks only in puzzles.

Defeat a vicious and bloodthirsty Roman Emperor - the most vicious of three very vicious and bloodthirsty Roman Emperors.

Is that all? No, I've to do everything without any of my godly powers. Wonderful. Looks like I'll be needing all the help I can get. From new friends and old....

I can’t wait for the next book!

Ever since is started reading Rick Riordan’s books i have loved them! Although this is by far the best! It is hilarious 😂 (as usual) and the story is amazing!

The only thing you could improve is the different characters voices because at least for me it makes the characters have more personality.

Apart from that the book is amazing and will definitely recommend it to you. I can’t wait for the next book!

Incredibly thrilling and very entertaining

The voices weren't great but overall it was tense and amazing. Also it was very funny like when apollo wets his pants in another dumpster. I LOLled many times and loved it.

Waiting for the next book is gonna be torture!

I started listening to Riordans books in November, and ever since, I've been buying extra credits. I simply can't wait a month to find out what happens! But, alas, the next book is not out yet. I suddenly remember what it was like to wait for the next Harry Potter books to be published!

Robbie Daymond does a great job! His voice is comfortable, he manages to make the jokes come across, and if I could, I would choose him to narrate my GPS (as Apollo, of course, because who wouldn't want to cruise with the son god).

Brilliant stories, brilliant narration!

I love all of Rick Riordan's series on Audible so far. I'm impatient for new titles to come out, now I have caught up with everything he's written.
The way he weaves ancient and modern themes together is fascinating. Rick Roirdan is a master of cliffhangers. Read them in the right order for maximum enjoyment, including the crossovers between worlds and systems. (His webpage tells you the right chronological sequence.)

Different, yet not...

I found that the tone, although similar, is not the same. Because it is about Apollos journey, his 'voice' changes how it is read. Of course, the original characters retain their 'voices'. I am not knocking it, it is still really good and very enjoyable. The series is meant for older children and teenagers, and I am an adult, but these tales are still equally enjoyable. The first of the Apollo books took getting used to, but as he remains a human and is slowly losing touch with his God side, he is becoming more likeable, more human. The kind you'd like to know. Very well written.
