Summary
January 1910. A journalist has been killed in a suspicious blaze. Everything points to a group of suffragettes, but the apparent culprit insists she is innocent.
When Lady Hardcastle receives a letter from a suffragette requesting her urgent help, the retired spy turned sleuth knows only she stands between an accused young woman and the gallows. Evidence at the scene makes Lizzie Worrel’s innocence difficult to believe, and with the police treating it as an open-and-shut case of arson, Lady Hardcastle faces a barrage of resistance as she tries to dig out the truth.
With her trusted maid and confidante, the formidable Flo, Lady Hardcastle sets off in pursuit of the truth as time runs out for the accused suffragette. Was she set up? And if so, is the real culprit a traitor to the cause - or part of a darker conspiracy?

Great stories, fab narration, loved it!
I have all the Lady Hardcastle audiobooks, and enjoy wach & every one of them. The relationship between the 2 main characters is warm & refreshing. The narrator is very good at the different voices, and consistent in how she presents them. TE Kinsey, please write more!

Wonderfully entertaining!
Everything about this story was so enjoyable, the story itself, the characters, the narration is brilliant with the narrator having a very uplifting voice. The historical notes at the end were of particular interest as this was where members of my family had their business as long ago as 1910.

Great story
love this series, Flo and Lady Hardcastle are loveable characters and the stories are superb. It's feel good, it's cosy and it's funny. I'd recommend this and any of the other books in this series!

Excellent continuation of the series
Another good, solid story, this time one with a bit more "edge" and some interesting bits of history. A potential new member of the "supporting cast" is introduced, and one from the previous story features again, this time in a more prominent way.
