Summary

Osho, one of the best-known and most provocative spiritual teachers of our time, presents The Sutra of 42 Chapters - a scripture compiled in the first century CE by a Chinese emperor. Two thousand five hundred years have passed since Buddha delivered the sutras on which this series is based. Using modern idiom, Osho extracts the kernel of Buddha's profound insight and understanding and presents his everlasting message to the contemporary listener in a manner that is lucid, straightforward, and humorous.

Osho weaves his own unique insights into this profound ancient wisdom and expands its meaning for our time, discussing the need for doubt and argument in the spiritual search, the nature of desire, and the discipline of nonattachment. As we travel with the Buddha on a path of radical wisdom, we'll laugh or shake our heads at the folly, the ineptitude, or the goodness of the characters in the stories - and gain knowledge and understanding at the same time.

Osho engages us at every level to help us experience the Buddha's teachings and take in their timeless truths. A powerful, inspirational gem of a series of talks recorded in an outdoor auditorium with several thousand people in his audience.

Treasure Beyond Material - Don’t Just Collect Pebbles

OSHO explains wonderfully and we are blessed to
Have such a master existing. His own words cannot be misinterpreted and there lies the treasure.
Contradictory and will push you to the very edge of your realisation. Thank you 🙏

A master that has taught me nothing

A master so misunderstood that the only conclusion you get is to do the inner work and what a joy it has been. See you soon OSHO.

Listening to Osho is listening to wisdom itself

Don't let the lenght of the book scare you in any way. It is a collection of lectures by Osho. Each chapter begins with a phrase from Buddha and Osho develops his thought around it. I'm about halfway and I'm planning to listen to it again. Just take your time and listen. You can learn a lot from each chapter.

So Glad I found Osho on Audible

If you somehow feel like nothing in this world makes sense no one and nothing in this world speaks to you, Osho will speak to you. I can’t think of how I would get along without these Osho audible books. And I’m so glad that he was so prolific. I have someone that can speak to me for a very long time. Thank goodness.

Masterful

One of Osho’s best discourses. A must listen along with the Heart Sutra discourse and the Ah This discourse.

The most beautiful explanation about all the Buddhas

This collection of teachings has brought me a deeper insight about life in several aspects. Before listening to this I’ve considered Osho as a great teacher; now I’m sure he is in fact a great Master.

The eightfold path

This collection of talks about Buddhism are remarkable because they are not from the traditional Buddhist literature. In particular, one talk is outstanding because Osho provided a beautiful and original insight about the Eightfold Path.

Pretty good, but not the best

Osho is always amazing. I found the Buddhist sutras to be fairly renunciatory, so didn't resonate with them as much as some of the others, but still there are gems within then that I appreciated.

Everything OSHO

Is amazing! I really like the deep dive Osho does here on a list of Buddha sanscripts interpreted a la Osho. This is a good book for someone who already is accustomed to the Osho style narrations.
