Summary

Let's celebrate World Book Day with The Boy Who Could Do What He Liked, written and recorded by the author David Baddiel, especially for World Book Day on March 3rd 2016.

This is the first audiobook to be produced for World Book Day - it’s a hugely entertaining and touching story of a boy called Alfie who likes to keep to strict routines and schedules. It’s all rules, rules and more rules in Alfie’s life.

When a new baby sitter arrives called Mrs Stokes to look after Alfie he begins to realise that rules aren’t everything and perhaps the mysterious Mrs Stokes is no ordinary baby sitter!

Includes wonderful music and sound effects - a jam packed listen with plenty of laughs along the way.

Kids loved it

Family are big Dahl and Walliams fans and just tried this hr long story to pass the time and really liked it!

“Funny” and “amazing” was the feedback from my 7 and 9 yr old daughters who love to read and are just getting into spoken word.

An amazing story that children and adults will like

Overall this story is amazing. The performance and story were very good too. I’m almost 8 and I loved this story. We listened to it in the car on our way to the seaside and it helped to long journey more interesting.

My favourite thing about this story was the moment Alfie went into the TV. I thought it was really funny when he went on TV and said there would be no school for 7-12 year olds!

Another good bit was when Alfie got his candy floss rocket and chocolate fizzy pop. He wishes these things would happen and then Mrs Stokes (his elderly, magical and amazing stand-in babysitter) makes all this magic happen.

I don’t know what I would have liked more of in this story.
