Summary

It all starts with a cat-and-mouse chase to the death in a Baltimore funfair: the Jackal, Bourne's age-old antagonist, is back, and Bourne is forced from his idyllic retirement with his wife and children to confront his enemy. In Europe, Russia, and America, there are men and women whose lust for power is disguised by their positions and respectability. Their aim: to gain control at the highest level, to avenge, to destroy.

Jason Bourne has been the assassin before: now he longs for peace with his family, but the threat of the Jackal puts in jeopardy all possibility of peace....

Thrill Ride

Intense suspense and action pack ride into the mind of David Web and Jason Bourne.

Utter Disappointment

The first book had minimal swearing, the second had rather more, this was just a litany of unnecessary foul language which detracted from the whole. And I had all on to the finish the book for this one point alone.
The writing; was at best sloppy, with recurring phraseology that was predictable and boring.
The plot; thinner than chiffon fabric - transparent and flimsy. This book should have been a third of it's length, shocking from an editorial position. How many times could the Jackal slip through Bournes grasp with any sense of authenticity - it just went on and on and on.
Sadly, I cannot recommend this book.

A real block buster

I have really enjoyed re reading these books. The characters are well rounded and believable. Yes the author does like to expand each section as fully as possible but as you read you are never sure where the plot is going next. It adds to the fun and the suspense. A very satisfactory ending to the trilogy beautifully read by the narrator.

So long, but for so little story.

10-15 hours worth of story stretched over 30.

The first two Bournes are joth a little over-long too but they just about hit a good middle ground, but here there's not enough plot to carry the book, it feels dragged out at basically every level.

But perhaps just as bad as the length, is the damage to the characters, both Jason and Marie become caricatures of themselves, and you just stop caring what happens to them.

A poor end to the original Bourne trilogy.

rubbish

not a patch on Bourne Identity. unbelievable story, more like a parody of an action thriller.

clever plot but laboriously long winded!

Overly melodramatic performance of a laboriously long winded text. Many, MANY repetitions of key phrases drive the listener to distraction!!!!! Clever plots draw in the audience but it goes on, and on, and ON!!!! Glad I listened to it rather than read it because I would not have had the inclination to struggle on - it was bad enough anyway!!!!

This is the 3rd book and can't wait to download the next one although it's not Robert Ludlum I'm hoping it's just as good. Can't believe how different it's is to the films tho highly recommended AAA+++
