Summary

Roland thought necromancers were inhuman monsters. Until he met Sairis.

Roland and Sairis have escaped from a traumatic assassination attempt, solved the mystery of their attacker, and enjoyed plenty of heavy petting along the way. Roland knows that it’s too soon for love, but he feels like he’s falling head over heels.

However, in the final moments when their attacker is revealed, Sairis does something unthinkable. He transfers a brutal spell to Roland, nearly killing him, and disappears.

Roland is left reeling, struggling to cope with his injuries, and wondering whether everything Sairis said and did was a lie. Did Sairis seduce Roland only to use him as a hostage? And if not, what has happened to Sairis?

Good series

I really enjoyed this. I agree with another reviewer that each book rolls into the next, and really like it’s one 18 hour story and each book isn’t a complete story on its own. Fortunately the series is good and I don’t mind supporting the author by paying more (authors don’t get paid enough as it is, and if you don’t pay they can’t keep writing new books). The final book in the series is especially good so I’m glad it ended on a high. I’ll get more from this author.

Series just gets better and better

This is the continuing story of Sairis a necromancer and the knight Roland who is also a prince. You need to listen to the series in order as this book continues immediately on from the first book. The world building continues and there are some interesting twists with some of the characters. It's a great series with an excellent narrator. I highly recommend it.

Interesting Story

The concept is interesting and reasonable well written, though this is more of an episode than a part of a trilogy as those usually have some kind of ending. The narration is good though.

Mostly redundant.

Part 2 of one story, again an open ending. Again horrible noise reduction and a good narrator. I enjoyed the beginning but was was the point of the last half of this book? It's just magic and memories and you can read book 3 without finishing the boring half of this one.
