I was looking for some fiction set in WWII. I found some that were ok. Then I found this which is wonderful. The knowledge to weave such great detail within the narrative is brilliant. So well written and a compelling story. I was unable to put it down. So I read this third John Cook novel to begin with and I have now read the first and started the second. It has not spoilt it, but I would read them in order. I am now a huge fan of Sthephen Ronson and his character John Cook.

I have listened to many World War 1 and 2 books but these books come from a much different perspective. I have found them very interesting so much so that I started the first in the series a week ago and I have just finished the third I think that says it all really. My husband doesn’t listen to audio books but I know he will devour these so Father Christmas is bringing them to him. The narration was perfect too.

Not sure who the author is but he has some very strange ideas. His storylines always border on the bizarre and this is no different. I’ve tried to listen to this a few times but it doesn’t get any better, not my cup of tea at all
