Don't like the narrator

I love Rebus stories but I struggled o stay interested and engaged with this narrator. Also I did like how he portrayed the character Siobhan Clark

Who does not love Ian Rankin?

His Rebus is a fully grown character
My uncle or nephew
And he makes Edinburgh the best city in the world.
