Summary

In the late 1800s, a new disease arrived in North America from Europe and began to claim the lives of children everywhere. Though most today have never even heard of this illness, it would routinely kill over 10,000 children in a single year - more than the polio might take in an entire decade. After much trial and tribulation, a shot was developed that helped both those already afflicted with the illness, and those who might one day become infected. But the shot was dangerous, and many parents refused it for their children.

In 1932, a safer version of the shot was developed, but contained a new ingredient never before tried on humans. Due to aggressive immunization campaigns, children all over the country began to receive this shot. Within a year, a new mental disorder - unknown to even the most knowledgeable child psychologists in the country - began to appear. It affected toddlers, and mostly boys. Children were losing the ability to speak and would take little interest in any other humans - even their parents. The Autism Vaccine chronicles the story of two of these children - one known throughout the world, the other completely unknown until recently - and why modern medicine’s attempts to explain what happened to them have so far come up short.

Insightful, educational and an excellent read.

After reading the authors polio book, I knew I had to listen to this one.

Although the author trails off topic about the ingredients of certain vaccines in too much detail, the book gives a great insight into the side effects that vaccines caused and how or if they aided in the birth of autism. The story of Quintland is also a very interesting inclusion and I will now move on to leaning about them.

The author continues to produce incredible books with extensive research and displays it in a simple to understand narrative.

Educational and historical scientific literature for the win!

This book was well written and educational. The author looks deep into the medical history books and follows 2 children with different lives, but similar disabilities.

The author does not diminish the horrors of diphtheria, yet he also doesn’t diminish the horrors of vaccine reactions. Anyone who doesn’t believe we should have safer vaccines for those who want to use them, should skip this book. If you’re happy with the vaccines described in this book, for which the manufacturers have no motivation to make better, you are willfully taking the chance of harming your children for a lifetime. Increasing the cdc children’s vaccine schedule from roughly 5 vaccines in the 1960’s and 70’s to 72 doses in today’s childhood is simply not justified. Especially with no attendant increase in death or illness from those childhood infections.

Thank you, Forrest Maready, for going through the CDC Children’s vaccine schedule and informing us of when each vaccine or additional dose was added.

And most of all, thank you for delving deep into the medical literature so that we can make health decisions based on facts, not media hype and pharmaceutical marketing!

Well-Written and Well-Read

I work in the medical field and hold a doctoral degree. I am data driven. I seek Truth even when it doesn't agree with my presumptions. I sought to debunk the vaccine topic related to autism a few years ago. As I continue to seek Truth in this matter by examining the evidence from both sides of the table, my assessment thus far is to seriously question the need for vaccinations. Take each vaccine on a case by case and patient by patient basis. Many vaccines MAY protect against illnesses that are mild and are just an inconvenience. Others MAY protect against more serious illnesses. You have to weigh the risks and benefits. The risk of getting a vaccine and the risk of not getting one.

This book should help you get an idea of the history of development of vaccines, in particular the Diphtheria vaccine. I feel the author has no agenda or alterior motive other than to present the truth. He is careful to state when things are facts versus when they are theory. And that shows character and the desire for accuracy.

Additionally, the author is very good at telling the story. That is an art that is difficult to do.

I recommend this book to those wanting to learn more about the topic of aluminum and it's implication in autism.

Eye Opening

This was by far the most eye opening book listened to. I am a mother of 2 on the spectrum and 1 with learning disabilities. We did genetic testing and found nothing so I started to wonder about what was causing it. This, along with other mom's testimonies have got me thinking about furthering my education. Well done!

Excellent production and an even better story

This is the second audio book I have enjoyed by the author. (The first being The Moth in the Iron Lung, which I also highly recommend.) Despite its seemingly sensational title, which Maready clarifies in the final chapter, this book is mostly a history of the rise of autism. He raises serious and unanswered questions surrounding the connection between the discovery of autism, the astronomical rise of the disease, and the simultaneous introduction of the practice of injecting metallic neurotoxins. For anyone with a curious mind and a distaste for the assertion that the science on this topic is "settled," this book is a must read/listen. I only wish these discussions went on while I was learning in medical school. I'm looking forward to listening to Maready's other books.

AMAZING INSIGHT!!

Great work uncovering truth's!!! Forrest Maready talks in great length about how vaccines have been blindly pushed and we blindly take them, with very little to no research.

thank you for being brave and speaking up.

As a parent I have been treated unfairly while asking my pediatrician questions about vaccines that were given to my children. Intimidated and belittled...bullied. I should have known better and stand up for them before damage was done. We need more authors like Forrest to be brave and educate parents like me with well done research collected in one place. Thank you!

mindblowing!!

I absolutely loved it! i hate the fact that we're the cause of the epidemic of autism but soo many ppl have been misguided and think tant autism is solely genetic and has been here for centuries and this book debunks those myths and proves once and for all how vaccines CAN cause things like autism and how our government has known for quite some time. thank you Forrest Maready!

Great Historical perspective

Great to look at the History of how we got to where we are with vaccines and aluminum toxicity. Tells the story very clearly. I highly recommend this book.

Oh My Dear Forrest

I just wish Forrest Maready does more extensive research on religions as much as he did on vaccines. I used to admire the guy and still agree with his overall message. Thank god there was no religious nonsense in this book. There might have been only couple mentions where he said the brain was “designed”. Yeah ok. Stop being brainwashed by your fictional book and wake up. If you were born in a different region of the world, your parents would have thought you to accept the delusions of a different book. I enjoyed listening to this book and I still read your weekly blogs even though you’re a religious nut and even though your opinion isn’t incredible sometimes. Pro-Science, Pro-Health, Anti-Religion.
