Some good advice but….
The narrator sounds like some 90s American infomercial / anchor parody and puts some sauce on certain sentences that sound so condescending. Which I would of forgiven if this was recorded when the book came out in 2001 but wasn’t, it’s 2019.
This books has some good advice but they definitely come from a place of privilege saying get some help in to help clean and child minders my single mother on a council estate would have felt very excluded from a lot of this advice which makes me sad as it could have been worded differently in parts to not make people not in there financial position feel like they are can’t cope without money or a husband to help out. Very nuclear family oriented and a some very Christian values/messages like using commandments for do and don’ts that was very off putting also the caribbean accents felt very cringe inducing.
I’m down with most of what is said in the book just a few parts and aspects left a bad taste in my mouth.

a bible of modern parenting.
great format to listen to with my baby in a sling.:-) wish o listened to it earlier.
Dr Sears pioneered co sleeping and importance of breastfeeding and keeping baby close by.

Life Changing!
I enjoyed this book very much. I have been doing all of the Bs naturally but it as comforting to listen that it all makes sense. Wish I had read it earlier.

Super biased but still worth a read
Worth reading as long as you grit your teeth through the incredibly judgemental and biased presentation of opinion as fact. This book reads more as a pat on the back for all AP parents rather than a presentation of AP methods and the research that supports them.
Why is it so hard to write a book that isn't preaching or judgemental?
pros - some great methods and theories that opened my mind and even changed it about many things
cons - In addition to facts (that aren't cited!) author makes claims that cannot possibly be founded in research, and worse-so, presents it as fact. For example "AP mothers tend to feed their children better and more nutritious food than non-AP parents who may be less conscious to the effects that vast amount of sugar have on them". 😡😡 Who the Hell makes a claim like that "based on evidence" and how the Hell would you conduct a study that proves that is causation?
I say read the book because I do think Attachment parenting is great, and unfortunately this is the best book I could find on it. But major negative points to the author for writing style as they are alienating any parent that either:
A- Isn't 100% set on AP before they start the book or
B- Isn't so riddled with insecurities about fucking their kids up that they'll drink up any advice that's given (i.e. "by being an AP parent you'll be better than other parents for things even like your children's nutrition")
The author continually speaks as if all other kinds of parents aren't capable of even basic attention to their children's needs, which I must say pisses me off even as someone is pro AP, so I can't imagine how anger-inducing it would be for someone who believes in another method but is open to learning about other research-backed methods.

Good tips, horribly condescending.
I like the concept of attachment parenting, it's why I picked up the book and some of the tips were definitely useful. That said, I frequently had to pause the book and go do something else because of the rage inducing condescension this book is littered with. In hindsight, I should've found another book the first time I got angry, but I wanted to stick it out. Will definitely not be looking at the other books this couple has published.
The performance was fine, the reader just got into the spirit of the book a bit too well and projected the same holier-than-thou attitude that the book's been written with.
