Summary

Learn to quiet your mind and calm your body, ease physical discomfort and strengthen your immune system, and discover new powers of concentration. Acclaimed author Daniel Goleman teaches you to attain these benefits in four distinctly different ways.

You'll learn The Breath Meditation, one of the simplest and most widespread of meditative methods, found in almost every ancient spiritual tradition. You'll learn The Body Scan Meditation, a powerful way to become deeply relaxed by moving your mind throughout your body to soothe and ease your muscles. Then there's The Mindfulness Meditation, a technique to enrich perception and gain direct insights into the inner workings of your mind. Finally, you'll discover The Walking Meditation, an ancient method particularly useful for people who find it difficult to sit still while meditating, or who have trouble maintaining concentration.

Good basic understanding but not relaxing

Provides a good background on the basic methods although I found the readers very noticeable in breaths between sentences off putting. As a result was unable to relax.

Goleman's contribution = 5 stars...

... but it is evident that this is supplemental audio to a book that contains the actual content. With respect to its usefulness as a meditation coach the recording format leaves a bit to be desired. There are 4 (I think) meditations and a brief intro, but the recording isn't divided up that way. This makes it difficult to locate the one you want. I re-recorded it just to divide it up logically. That said... it's worth 7 bucks.

Best guided meditation out there

Hands down best guided meditation book available. Narration is perfect, just takes some practice. Great job explaining and voice is soothing. I practice everyday with the help of this book.

Short story

Informative but short on content. Perhaps more useful if more examples were included. A medical analysis would've added to the depth of material.
