Summary

Businesswoman, Sam Phillips, was quite content focusing on her single life. At 37, she didn't have the time to explore. She was never supposed to be alone, not in this world. One devastating day would crush everything she had ever known, but deep down, she knew there was more to life than business.

Alexis Foster wasn't looking for love. With work commitments only growing by the day, a life of "arrangements" as a high-class escort appeared to be the way forward. After all, at 25, Alexis had all the time in the world to settle down.

A simple decision would change their lives, but with a past ever-present for one of them, and a past lurking for the other, one of them must decide if she can give her all.

Is it too good to be true? Or can the heart be given away more than once?

Contains mature themes.

Loved it

This is a different book, different because it deals with female escort and this is not a common subject. It is well written, well developed characters, great story line.
Narration was great Cat Gould never lets down and she has a great voice.

Pretty Woman, but make it the lesbian edition

Pretty good book overall. There are slow moments but also moments where you find yourself yelling at the characters to stop making their terrible decisions.

A detailed and interesting story

Besides wanting to shake Sam into reality a few times(lol), I really enjoyed this story. Second chances do exist. Not a big fan of British narrators, but Cat Gould really brought the story to life.

Did not like at all

First of all I wish somebody would write a different storyline. And have someone say get out and stay out.
And if you put your hands on me in my kitchen they would be wearing a pan. And instead of calling Sam call the police
I am so tired of these weak women,

Mixed Feelings about this one...

I've heard an audiobook before where someone frequents an escort and they magically fall in love. This story had me questioning some things at times and there was violence... I didn't like parts, but the down parts make the good parts better if that makes sense. I usually avoid romance novels with drama but this worked out in the end. The narrator was good, but not one of my favorites. overall, it was a good listen, but not the best.

Adult Teen Angst

It’s a well written story, that deals with some tough subject matter very well. The important characters have depth and overall I liked it. There were moments of lull, and moments of emotional whiplash. On a basic level it reminded me of being an angst ridden teenage and thinking everything was the end of the world only to find as an adult the actual world could end and yet it still goes on. Having those emotional blinders on and closing yourself off to the point where you can’t see what’s in front of you... the angst. Ugh.
Other than that there was the some continuity issues in the bringing and possibly towards the end the number of weeks kept varying - there’s a point where a full 7 day week is supposed to have gone by but then they say “two weeks ago” and my brain went “three weeks ago...” the relationship felt rushed (continuity aside it does take place over a short time frame), it had the formula for the steps of an event that could drive a wedge or bring the leads closer but again the angst made it feel longer.
It’s good as as age gap romances go but the age gap wasn’t that much and as it was the second main angst factor it makes you wonder if it shouldn’t have been a larger one. That said their are parts where the older lead felt like would have been closer to 60 than 40.

Some things are meant to be💕

The characters in this intense love story frequently used a word, PERFECT.
This is the second romance novel I have read from this author and both make me hope that Ms. Tereze is a prolific writer.
While passion pervades this wonderful story, it is secondary to the obvious plot that two people from different worlds and backgrounds can find love despite obstacles, both real and perceived.
Multiple times, I honestly felt my heartbeat and breathing increase in speed as I found myself rooting for the two lovers to succeed❤️.
We all have different viewpoints about what pleases us, but I hope you enjoy this love story and the lovely job Cat Gould did narrating, as much as I did. 🤞.

Great character development

This story will address many issues. Is a 13 year age gap between partners really an impediment to a great partnership? Why do so many lesbian women doubt their own self-worth? True love does not come without problems - it requires time, and women who wish to stop comparing a past love with a present one, seeing the value both had to play in one’s life.-
