worst narration

I couldn't even finish the book. the dragging g of her voice took away from the story. I got through first and couldn't go any further.

Christian fiction with a peek at Amish marriage.

Would you consider the audio edition of The Amish Widow's Faith Boxed Set 1-4 to be better than the print version?

Audio versions are almost always better because you can do other things while you listen. This book is well suited for audio. The narrators voice works perfectly with the story.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Amish Widow's Faith Boxed Set 1-4 ?

When Samantha runs into her ex-boyfriend who wants to get back together with her and her current boyfriend walks into this conversation.
The scene where Samantha's first husband dies is also very memorable. Or the scenes where she sees her dead husband and thinks she is losing her mind.
The scene where Samantha begins dating again and breaks down on her date with Abraham is well-written and memorable.

Which scene was your favorite?

When Samantha first meets Zeke for the first time after his weight loss. This is a scene full of hope and wholesome flirtation. I also really enjoyed the scenes where they met each other's parents.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

It was way too long to listen to in one setting. This book has a steady pace that matches the Amish story. It is something that is better broken into several intervals.

Any additional comments?

This is a great Christian story that gives the listener a peak into Amish customs, courtship and marriage. It is romantic while also protraying the real challenges of marriage and raising children. I received a review copy of this audiobook for free and voluntarily left this review. This is a clean story appropriate for all ages.

Enjoyable read

An Amish Widow's Faith, my first read from author Joseph Hersh. If there's a problem with this book it’s that it's so short, you want stories/books longer so you can enjoy them for a longer time. This said I have to say that the author packed a lot into the pages of this short romance. Different from the other Amish books that I've read in that it deals with a somewhat older Amish widow as opposed to young Amish love.
Amish Temptation (Amish Widow's Faith #2), my second read from author Joseph Hersh.
Amish Anniversaries, my third read from author Joseph Hersh.
Amish Rekindling (Amish Widow's Faith #4), my fourth read from author Joseph Hersh. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Dorothy Deavers’s narration adds to the book's enjoyment. I'll be reading more from this author. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).

A widow's struggle to come to terms with her loss

Samantha suddenly loses her husband before they have a chance to have kinner. The books detail her struggles in dealing with her loss and moving on without her soulmate. When she backs down again and again, instead of being frustrated, I thought of a close friend who lost her son and how long it has taken her to be able to come to terms with it. Eventually Samantha decides to try again but is thwarted by one thing or another until she meets the one she will marry. Like another reviewer, I wonder why she didn't end up with Jacob, but that didn't destroy the story for me. It was just another of her life's twists and turns. This was a good listen and kept my attention through all 4 books. Thank you Joseph Hersh! =)

Sweet story of a life guided by faith.

This story is good for young people of faith to read for guidance through love, loss, and recovery. The Amish belief in a simple life is demonstrated clearly. I gave it 3 stars because it is repetitive and slow moving. It may suit Amish readers, who would be able to practice patience and appreciate its pace. With all the “buggy” rides I was surprised there was not more mention of the horses. It was refreshing to listen to this sweet, faith based romance where there were no evil characters.

Heart breaking

This story involves the life of a woman who looses her husband and then must find her way alone in life. She works with and support group as well as meets others who don't seem to work out.
It is a story that could have been written as a faster pace and not so much detail.
The narrator was good and unlike some reviewers I felt did a good job.
This book was provided free with the expectation of an honest review.

The speaker didn’t match the story

The voice was of a older woman but the character was a young woman. I couldn’t seem to enjoy it.
