Summary

The second thrilling boxed set of the best-selling America Falls series:

Rude Shock, Luke's Trek, and Civil War.

No mazes. No zombies. No games.

After their hurried escape from the Drake Mountain Facility, Isaac and his group stumbled upon a farmhouse in a secluded valley. It's what they've been looking for. A place to make their home, both now and in the future.

Can it be so easy though? Danger is coming, and only time will tell if they have found the salvation they've been seeking or if their dreams will be crushed, leaving them to the same fate as all of those that died before them.

This boxed set contains books four through six of America Falls, a compelling, action-packed series about who we are and who we have to become in order to survive.

Good series, great 5&6 book

I would say that I am veracious reader and listener and get through a few books/ Audio books a week. I have eclectic tastes which range from Jeffrey Archer to Stephen King, my main genres are Fantasy and Sci-fi.

I purchased this set after have kindly being given the first set by the author.

I started off and was disappointed I felt that book 4 was the weakest in the series, it skipped a large passage of time and I felt that this led to the loss of connection with some of the characters.

That being said book 5 and 6 for me turned the corner and I felt the addition of new characters and the return of others added a new dimension to the books which were sorely missed in book 3&4.

This has been written as episodes so there is no real conclusion at the end of each book which I do find a little frustrating however the end of book 6 was ended very well.

The Narration on this was good I had previously criticised the English accents they felt slightly paired down compared to the first books that or I was just getting used to them (I am from the UK).

This set would have been a strong 4 if it wasn’t for book 4 so for that reason it will be a 3 overall.

Top Quality Series

This is the first review I've ever written after the many audio books (and quite a few post-apocalyptic series) I've listened to - this series is that good. All six books (Box Sets 1 & 2) were great in their own right. I listened to them all over the course of one week (had to work and get other things accomplished!) and am left very satisfied with all aspects of the story. Wonderful character development, common sense situations, nicely descriptive and dramatic WITHOUT being stupid, gross, or vulgar (a huge factor for me). There was suspense, sadness, and cheering on of the good guys - all done beautifully as you experienced the main characters' emotions and life experiences (good and bad) in this new world. Although I would love to hear more about what the future holds for these groups (I've come to love them so), the writing has left me content to either end the series as is or wait for more - again, a good sign of great writing in my humble opinion!

I will definitely look forward to more books written by Scott Medbury - thank you for some of the highest quality of storytelling out there!

Extremely well told story

I have rarely found a story teller that can actually let you see the story unfold in your mind as the author had done. The narrator does well job adding his talent in sharing the story.

Great little apocalyptic universe

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I enjoyed this book quite a lot. Books four and five have some repeating themes, but book six was really well written and I enjoyed the layers it had.

I hope the series is not over here.

A Great Listen

I loved the story, and fell in-love with the Characters.
This story has such a "human" touch to it... I can't imagine anyone not wanting to hear more.

Really good

The continuing story of the America Falls is truly a great story. Although it shows the evil that some may possess, it also shows how good people intrinsically are. Throughout the series we see how Isaac and Luke maintain their good-heartedness. The true understanding of humanity and community that out performs evil in this series helps a person realize that good will always prevail. I highly recommend this. Lone Wolf is next.

A look into the future?

Good series. Predictable at times but otherwise great descriptive writing. Overall it kept me interested. I think some of the predictabilty comes from listening to so many different post-apocolyptic novels. It stands to reason that there would be similarities between them all.

MORE!!!!

I've fallen in love with the world Scott created in his America Falls series, listening to all of it in less than a weeks time and I need more. The stories are compelling, the world realistic including giving reasons why only kids survive rather than brushing it aside as something that just happened.

I really hope Scott explores more in this world, I know there's the Lone Wolf title, which I hope he continues. I'd also love to hear how the rest of the world reacts to, an fares in the new world dynamics presented.

Mr. Barr also does a wonderful job of bringing the world to life and giving it feeling and character in different voices and his reading. Well done all around.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a fair review.

Keep them coming!

I very much enjoy this series. I love the different take on the post apocalypse books. Medbury brings this story from the eyes of children that were left behind after a devastating attack on America. I also like that the kids in the story are not genius at survival that several other post apoc books seem to have. This is the continuation of the first box set. Continuing to follow our young survivors as they try to adapt to the new ways for life. Meeting friends, starting relationships and the unfortunate killing those who should not be enemies. If you like young adult books, or any post apoc books your will like this series.

Really good books!

I really liked this series. Some post-apocalyptic stories are just about crazy preppers and read more like a paranoid manual for making your own community after the end of the world. This is a much better read with some twists and turns, good guys and bad guys, and a decent group of people.
