Summary

It’s your body.... It’s your mind.... It’s your choice....

If you’re reading this right now, you’re questioning how much you drink. Maybe you know you drink way too much, and you want to quit. Or maybe you’re just curious. You’re questioning whether you might be overdoing it a bit. No matter where you are on the drinking spectrum, you’re not alone. I’ve been there. And thousands of people inside the This Naked Mind community have been there, too.

You’re probably wondering why in the world you keep drinking, even though you’ve made a conscious decision to cut back or quit altogether. Are you sick of waking up with a hangover, having to piece together conversations and wondering if you said or did anything embarrassing? Are you even really enjoying yourself anymore?

If you’ve tried to give up or moderate your alcohol consumption in the past and failed, you need to know it’s not your fault. There’s something going on that you’re probably not aware of. And once you understand it, your eyes will be opened, and you’ll be able to undergo this experiment in a meaningful way. It won’t be just another failed attempt at willpower.

Are you ready to get in on the secret?

Let’s go!

Absolute life changer

I've found the audio book so motivating. It has really opened my eyes to how alcohol can take over your life. I listened to the book day by day and this has kept me on track to successfully complete the 30 days. Thank you Annie.

life changer

I don't normally write reviews but felt compelled to write as this book and it's strategies has completely changed my life, my views on alcohol and my drinking habits. I listened to it twice and now for the first time in 30 years have a much better relationship with alcohol. If you want to cut back or stop, this is a great tool to help you do that and explains our emotional attachment to alcohol, the scientific and the harm :)

Very helpful in my quest to quit drinking

Really enjoyed the neuroscience information as well the exercises. Each time I think about wanting a drink, my mind immediately thinks about how it effects my mind and body, which stops the ‘wanting a drink’ thoughts in their tracks.

It’s been 30 days, now I feel I can really stop my subconscious mind taking control of the situation.
Thanks Annie, you really are making a difference in people’s lives.

Common knowledge on alcohol, & gender bias throughout

Should a woman have to put up with mediocre sex?
Statistics on alcohol related abuse against women but not men!
Gender bias comments throughout!
This book is written by a far right feminist with a clear bias against men, using them in many negative ways to back up dangers of alcohol.
Statistically it may be true that men are higher perpetrators than women in the illustrations discussed, but not once are females generalised negativity in an example.

This book is very preachy also... The writer try’s hard to make the reader believe she does not expect you to stop drinking forever as she did, but it is very obvious that is what the narrative is aiming to achieve.
Equally it using scare tactics that make a glass of wine after work the equivalent of a bag of heroine.

I only listened to 10 chapters. That was enough.

5 months alcohol free

I listened to this book over the weekend and 5 months later I haven't had a drop of alcohol. Best decision I've ever made, life changing. Eternally grateful for this book.

Fantastic

This book is great, a lot of the content is obvious but listening to it is very powerful. I managed the 30 days and its really opened my eyes to why I was drinking and I know I'll be alot more mindful when choosing to have a beer in the future.

Wow.

What an amazing book. it's a fantastic resource for those wanting to cut down or moderate drinking. I'd decided to take up the Dry January challenge and wanted to have something to help motivate me through the days. I actually started on the 29th December, which makes today my day 30, without alcohol, of the experiment. The introduction is fantastic - so much information about alcohol and its effects on your body and mind. Although I'd accepted alcohol was a poison, I'd never really looked in to why and, other than a hangover, never understood what it did to me.

The daily snippets are great, a short segment of information which I followed, for the first couple of weeks, with a journal entry. After a few weeks I dropped the journal and instead posted in the Facebook group which supports those on the 30 day experiment.

Annie is lovely. I found her voice soothing, patient and calm, like confiding in a friend. The course is gentle and slow but so effective. Because of this audio book I went on to buy the Alcohol Experiment, which Annie recommends on her website, and this is also a great resource for understanding the effects of alcohol.

I set out wanting to be Alcohol free (AF) for 30 days and then moderate but my mindset changed quite early on after listening to the information in the book. I've now set the challenge to reach 90 days without a drink and then I'll see how I feel then. I'm not going to say I'll never drink again... but right now, I don't feel like it.

What an amazing gift Annie has given to us all. Recommended, a hundred times.
