Summary

Would you give up your lifelong dream for a shot at everlasting love?

Amanda Morgan is a morning show host with a fierce reputation, but a bitter divorce has left her feeling all washed up. Being mistaken for a grandmother at her own son’s wedding has her teetering on the edge - until a stranger at the reception rocks her world.

Dakota Washington is a young reporter who is flabbergasted to meet her career idol - and biggest celebrity crush - at a friend’s out-of-town wedding. Their night together goes beyond her wildest fantasies. And she’s had a lot of them.

They were never meant to see each other again - until fate steps in, landing Dakota a job at Amanda’s network in New York City. Thanks to a draconian employment contract, the network could fire them on the spot for getting romantically involved. They agree to keep their distance and never breathe a word about their past.

Easy, right?

Except every time they’re alone for more than five minutes, they end up having sex. Soon, it’s obvious this is more than a fling, leaving them with an unthinkable choice: Give up the careers they’ve poured their souls into or lose the love of a lifetime. Which one will be easier to walk away from?

If you enjoy scorching celebrity age-gap romance with a touch of heart, don’t miss the latest collaboration of Miranda MacLeod and TB Markinson.

It’s light, it’s funny, it’s sexy!

I really love the team that is TB Markinson and Miranda McLeod. You know you’re in for a treat, especially when they are combined with the comic timing of Lori Prince! The story hits the ground running and never loses momentum. The plot is refreshing and kept me entertained until the final twist. Amanda and Dakota are wonderful main characters whom fate seems to want to bring together, despite what it may cost them professionally. This is a story of attraction, friendship, loyalty and how vulnerability can sometimes be the greatest strength of all. But I must admit that Cronky the cat and Riley the dog frankly stole the show for me!

Enjoyable Story

I really enjoyed this book. Lori Prince's narration was good. You can heat her growth as a narration in this one.
This is the book I ended the year with and I was so very happy to have done so. It was lighthearted, yet the story had some weight to it.

Just perfect!

Absolutely LOVED this book. I’m a live TV Producer myself so could totally relate. Fab story, really well written and Lori’s narration excellent as I’ve come to expect. Absolutely love both Amanda and Dakota too. Loved the book cover too, nice to put a face to the name…. ;). Only one complaint…. I wish there was a sequel! I miss both of them already!

Loved this f/f romcom

A good storyline with great characters and love interest. Nicely written and well edited. Often charming with plenty of laugh out loud funnys all topped off with a bit of intrigue. It really cheered up the dark days of Omicron and I will be looking forward to more from this author combo as well as each individual writer.
Lori Prince's narration of f/f romcoms is great, as always.

Great book & audio

Really enjoyed the book on KU a real page turner.
The audiobook narrated by Lori Prince adds to the story and gives voice to the characters.

Did make the mistake of dipping in on 30 minute sleep timer at 3 am and was still listening at 8 am.

OH MY GOSH!!!!! i am in love with this one.

1. age gap lesbian romance is my kryptonite

2. i found both of the main character’s personalities were incredibly likable before we even get to know them, nothing felt forced in any way and i related to dakota in a million ways

3. perfect dash of angst for a bit, mixed with fluff and flirting and sexual tension, i swear they made me blush

4. the main conflict/plot twist was so surprising yet interesting and the resolution didn’t feel rushed at all, i loved that the climax wasn’t completely centered around the their relationship as well

5. i have yet to be let down by t.b. markinson, but after this i’ll have to get into miranda macleod’s writing as well

6. lori prince continues to make me melt, i listened to this in one sitting like a manic

Just perfect!

Characters that are completely relatable despite the ice queen stereotype. Deep and complex story without being convoluted. Feels great all the way through. This could easily be a movie right out of the box. I am off to listen again and share with my wife. It’s so well told and perfectly narrated by Lori Prince (was there any doubt?).

More Markinson/MacLeod please—with LORI!!

Fantastic!

Miranda MacLeod and T.B. Markinson are one dynamo collaboration team! Each time they sit down together they create magic on the page! They established something quite wonderful with their first book Holly & Ivy and it’s only grown better with each book. Their writing chemistry is remarkable and jumps right off the page. They each bring something unique to the table and they seem to understand how to use it to their creative advantage. Best of all, the results always yield reader satisfaction. The AM Show, their latest collaboration, is something not to be missed by any red-blood lesfic rom-com fan. It is their best yet.

Amanda and Dakota are fantastic characters. They each have the kind of traits a reader can really sink their teeth. Amanda is icy, sarcastic, sharp-tongued and bossy. But, she’s not all bad; Markinson and MacLeod give her a soft side, one that saves cats and protects the dignity of aging co-workers with a fierce loyalty. She’s compassionate and caring to those she values and trusts. She has the kind of depth and dimension readers like to see in ice queens. However, all that frost melts the instant she meets one Dakota Washington.

Dakota is utterly adorable. She’s fun-loving and easy-going. Her compassion and kindness naturally draws people to her, especially when she flashes them her sweet smile. She easily earns people’s trust and people like being around her, especially Amanda. Amanda finds her completely charming and can not resist her. In fact the pull is so strong, Amanda is even willing to risk her career to spend time with her.

The chemistry between these two ladies is off the charts. Amanda and Dakota’s romance is nothing short of charming and delightful. There’s an age gap between the two women that works to enhance not only the romance, but the storytelling. It provides the story arc with a real degree of substance, one that makes the romance stand tall and look gorgeous.

I first read the print revision of this book and I absolutely enjoyed it. When the audio version came out, I grabbed it. With Lori Prince as the narrator, I knew it was going to be good, and boy was I right! She does an exceptional job narrating this book. Prince is the perfect choice for this book. Her skills as a narrator make MacLeod and Markinson’s work simply shine.

Final remarks…

MacLeod and Markinson hit a home run with this one. This romance has a little bit of everything: comedy, drama, mystery, and sex. The audio version is exceptional. Lori Prince does a masterful job of narrating it, infecting her voice beautifully and creating different voices for each character. I enjoyed every minute of this book and would encourage everyone to pick it up.

Strengths…

Compelling, likable characters

Great listen!

These two authors together are quickly becoming my favorite duo. This book has it all! Drama, but not too much. Age gap. Ice Queen. Fur babies. Steamy scenes, but not over the top. And wit!! I literally laughed out loud several times.
Being an Oregonian I loved that parts of wine country are included.
I also appreciate that this isn’t a typical cookie cutter story. There is lots in absorb. Turns that aren’t completely predictable is a plus.
Top it off with Lori Prince, who does an excellent job with this book, and this is a hard to interrupt listen!!

Lesbian romance in New York.......

One of the authors provided me the Audible code to download this book. Wow! I listened to this book in one day. I like audio books, and Lori Prince did an incredible job of bringing this book to life, allowing me to take care of household business and be entertained in the process. If you enjoy lesbian age gap romance this is a true winner. T.B.Markinson and Miranda MacLeod created a wonderful read with well developed characters. It is an emotionally engaging and steamy read. I am hard put not to leave a spoiler. Instead I will say take the plunge whether it is in print of audio format. I have written this review so others might find it helpful and share me love of a great new book.

Move over Good Morning America

Start with a middle aged ice queen, mix with a hella talented youngster, stir and shake in a dysfunctional workplace and you have one hell of a drink. It's pleasing whether you guzzle or savor and once the buzz hits, you can't help but laugh out loud along the way. From crashing space debris to crowing roosters, the book has it all. And did I mention "ice queen"?!!
