Book for different people
Boring. sometimes advices on how to apply different techniques how to share the car for driving, something about sharing house and mortgage and what to do when you have new member in the house aka the child. Nothing special. I was concerned what is inside of it. Perhaps some package yet coming. Sounds like scary scenario of the family relationships Norhing usefuliur in this book. My impression is only good if you have a car and can go around then it's something for me otherwise no value for me. Not true a lot of things and a lot of things has never happened in my life so no comparison.

Great book
I read the 7 habits of highly effective people years ago, when in university and I thought this could not be better than that. The thing is that it goes around the same concept, but now as I am a mum of four has given me a refocus of those same concepts into my family relationships.
Worth reading.

What would have made The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families better?
I've read this book before. It was so powerful I wanted to revisit it's teachings again. The abridged version left much to be desired. I felt the potent message was lost. I'll have to dig out the book read it cover-to-cover over the summer.
Any additional comments?

I recommend this highly
Since I didn't grow up in a home with these principles, it was indeed benificial to me as a parent to listen to Covey's teaching of these "7 habits" and give numerous applications and illustrations (from his own family as well as others), giving me mental images to work with. I'd already been exposed to his original 7 habits book, but this one wasn't a waste. This listen was worth the time and is already making a difference in my family.

Abridged Books Should be Banned from Audible
Loved the book, but listening to it felt a little like being a tourist on a subway that continually goes through tunnels. Just as you are settling into ruminating and savoring the points given by Covey the chapter abruptly stops and moves on to the next point. I was looking for the full audio version of the book but could only find the abridged version. I felt like I missed so much of the essence of the book by not being able to listen to the full elaboration of each chapter.

Great summary of the habits applied to familylife
I really like this audiobook and wish the unabridged version had been available in audio. I have previousy listened to several of Steven Coveys books and think this one gave a good summary of the 7 principles of effectiveness. The only thing I think is slightly negative is that Covey in most cases uses the same axamples as he uses in earlier books. As one who listens a lot to his teaching it would have given me a new dimention to get "fresh" examples to reflect on.
All in all this audio inspires me and give practical advice to be a better and more understanding parent; to build the "familyteam" :-)

Covey is the best
I am in total love with the original 7 habits book and from time to time I get back to it to review some of its content. I had never read this adaptation to families. Even if I was very familiar with the 7 habits, I found the focus on families very enriching. The only problem with this audio version is that it’s a shortened version of the actual book.
