Summary

Welcome to the café that never sleeps.

Day and night Stella's Café opens its doors for the lonely and the lost, the morning people and the night owls. It is many things to many people, but most of all it is a place where life can wait at the door. A place of small kindnesses. A place where anyone can be whoever they want, where everyone is always welcome.

Meet Hannah and Mona: best friends, waitresses, dreamers. They work at Stella's, but they dream of more, of leaving the café behind and making their own way in life.

Come inside and spend 24 hours at Stella's Café - a day when Hannah and Mona's futures will be changed and their friendship tested. Today is just the start, but it is also marks a conclusion. Because all beginnings are also endings. And all endings can also be beginnings....

Sat outside my house just to see what happened to Mona and Hannah

I listen to audiobooks on my long car work journeys. After 8 hours driving yesterday I just had to sit on my drive for 20 mins to learn whether Mona and Hannah put things right. An amazing insight into many and diverse characters’ lives. I loved this book. Such detail to everyday things and I adored the fact that characters reappeared when I didn’t expect. Tinged with the appropriate amount of sadness and joy to make the outcomes so real. “The Lido” was amazing as I am obsessed with swimming, the 24-hour Cafe makes me want to open one!

Really good!

Really enjoyed this book; far more than I had expected. Nice story, easy to listen to and pick up anywhere. However, it just sort of ended?!? Nothings been resolved, I’m not happy! 😄

Magical story

This is a truly lovely book. One that’s perfect for the long hours of the night if you can’t sleep. The character portraits of the various staff and customers of the cafe are etched as finely as those in a Jane Austin novel but with a modern twist. It’s a book you can relax into without getting wound up.

Wonderful book!

I loved this book. So interesting hearing about the lives of all the different characters that came and went to the cafe. Gripped me from beginning to end. Well narrated too. The ending was surprising and very emotional. Had me guessing the outcome right until the last minute!
