It’s been three years since the Virgil County High School Massacre. Three years since my best friend, Sarah, was killed in a bathroom stall during the mass shooting. Everyone knows Sarah’s story—that she died proclaiming her faith.

The story was really interesting, sad to think this potentially has happened in real life and this is how people feel afterwards.
Different Narrators made the story come to life and was really interesting listen.

I choose to rate it 4 stars even though I was debating whether or not to for it a 3 in some areas because at first I didn’t really enjoy this audiobook it always felt like it was missing something but I’m very glad I stuck with it as it all came together beautifully, I liked how it cast a light on victims and the survivors in something like a shooting and how it showed that people are people and sometimes when they die they are seen as perfect or worshipped when really that’s not the real them. I felt as though you couldn’t be invested in the characters for some reason I’m not sure why as they were relatable and likeable but I wasn’t left wanting to know more. Overall it was a good book just a bit hard to get into and enjoy at first but once you get into you’re left thinking about it constantly.

An easy listen for when you are doing something else, but was a very slow story and a bit shit to be honest. Just a teen book really, I expected more substance or a twist at the end or something which there wasn’t really. Felt like a lot of it was quite dramatic for the situations but it’s an ok book.

A compelling novel which cleverly weaves in various perspectives and stories to create a moving read/listen on a difficult topic. Especially relevant on the subject of gun crime and control. It really makes you think!

Loved this, could hardly put it down from start to finish. Great use of diverse characters and a brilliant heartfelt story line that even made me cry.
