About this listen

What could be worse than an arranged marriage to a vampire prince?

When Luna is sold into marriage to the Prince of Darkness on her twenty-first birthday, she thinks she knows what to expect. Arranged marriages happen all the time, right? Wrong. No one could have prepared her for the reality of being married to the vampire prince.

Ever since the day he was made, Sebastian has been living according to Queen Marguerite's rules. After all, he's only alive because of her. When she orders him to marry and bind himself to Luna, a human hailing a neighboring kingdom, he has no choice. He agrees to the marriage but never expects to feel anything for her.

When their Binding Ceremony goes awry, and they are magically tethered, everything is thrown into upheaval. Unable to leave each other's presence, they must learn to live with each other—or die.

Tethered is an arranged marriage high fantasy romance filled with forced proximity, magical bindings, vampires, and world-building. It can be enjoyed on its own or alongside The Ithenmyr Chronicles.

I couldn't get past how the MFC was so petulant...
Harping on about 'you don't own me' with no regard for context or safety. And the MMC just growled and pulled her around without actually answering any questions.
it felt like performative feminism in a fantasy setting whilst spouting sexist stereotypes about men...

DNF - So annoying

don't bother. fmc voice is great, mmc voice is irritating and for some reason forces a lisp where there shouldn't be one. 6hrs in and about to give up. no spark to the romance and irritating main characters who ask questions which are never answered. don't know if I will make it to the end. waste of a credit

terrible , don't waste your credit

The voice actors did a good job of portraying different characters however I think it would have been better for the male to do Sebastian’s voice in both his and Luna’s chapters and vice versa for Luna. Story moves a bit slowly but it’s fine to listen to as I’m keeping busy around the house.

It’s ok

I’m no book connoisseur but this book was, to put it politely, awful. I hate to slate a book but honestly I couldn’t not leave a review. The storyline could be good but it is half developed with elements of the plot just skimmed over leaving you unsure who’s who and what’s what. And other elements are just left unanswered completely. The characters had potential but are woefully underdeveloped to, not to mention incredibly underwhelming with far too much focus put on romance and trivialities. The MFC at one point has a life changing event/realistion happen to her but in the next breath is asking her notorious dark shadow prince husband if he likes what she’s wearing. What! Unfortunately the whole thing felt long winded. And the constant repeating of the characters internal monologue about their feelings for one another after mere weeks is just painful too.
Unfortunately it wasn’t for me. Save your credit.

Not for me… save your credit!

Separately the characters were read well but the female and male POVs did not seem to flow together well. I preferred the female’s version of the characters and felt it should have been read by her all the way through. The male voice, made Luna sound unfeeling and whiny.
I enjoyed the story however and will ‘read’ the second book rather than ‘listen’ to it.
Good world building and interesting main characters.

Good story and blossoming romance
