Hmmm Where to Start

The story was ok, but certainly not what you’d think about a book that takes place in “an illegal sex club.” The fantasies between the MCs in the club are practically G rated. Meaning, no sex. Very little sexy times took place during business hours in the club - weird , right?

The narrators, while good narrators, are not appropriate for a sexy book. Both sounded too old for the characters they portrayed. The female narrator did not sound like a younger lady, so I kept picturing the FMC as a 60 year old grandma. The male narrator sounded older too, and alternated between making the MMC sound serious and giddy. It was odd.

Don’t get me wrong, there were sexy times and they were well written. I’d like to learn about Kane’s story, and I might because the narrators are different.

Club Romance

Cassian is the business side of Club X, and hires Olivia as his EA. The attraction is off the charts but Olivia has a good girl vibe and is the exact opposite of Cassian's love'em & leave'em reputation.
While I enjoyed reading/hearing this story, it wasn't that much of an attention-keeper. There were a few pieces that were a surprise but there wasn't a lot of build up to it and the resolution was somewhat predictable, although the delivery was different and unique.
The audiobook narrators - Carrie Piper and David Drummond - were new to me so that made it a fresh listening experience.

Good Story

This is the first book in the Club X Temptation Series. This is a great start to the Series. I liked Cassian and Olivia's story. They are opposites attract, and they share a sizzling chemistry. Stefan and Kane are intriguing characters. Carrie Piper and David Drummond did a good job with the narration. Looking forward to listen to Surrender, Stefan's story, the next book in the Series.

Different...

Club X is interesting. I found myself wondering how it came to be and the behind the scenes of it all. The story itself was just ok for me but it was a quick read. This book also made me wonder what thoughts the people narrating have in regards to the story.

Good story. Bad narration.

Didn't care for the narrators too much but the story was good. I hope they switch up the narrators for the rest of the series though...

I'm sorry but returning after 4 chapters...

I love the storyline but struggled to accept narrators...story is great, however! Have to return.

Could not finish the Audible version!

I HATE leaving reviews like this. I just could not finish listening to this book. The female narrator was ok and if she had been paired with a strong male narrator this audio book might have worked! The male narrator voiced Cash as if he were a high school student but my biggest grip (and the reason I had to stop listening to this book) was the way he voiced Stefan. Every time Stefan spoke I felt like I was listening to an old Leave it to Beaver episode. He made Stefan sound like an overly enthusiastic 10 year old not a playboy in his upper 20's. Male narrator: 1, Female narrator: 3. I got about 20% into the audio book before my nerves gave out and finished reading the kindle book. I enjoyed reading the book a lot more and give the story a solid 4.

My advice would be to read this book and skip the audio version.

Ehhh don't do it

the writing is decent at some parts, repetitive and terrible at others. the repetitive use of certain words or descriptions is irksome at best as well as the predictability. not very imaginative

Good story, but abrupt ending

I really enjoyed the book, and overall the audiobook too. The story was really good, and quite emotional in places. And I really liked the characters. The end of the book seemed a little rushed, given how detailed the rest of it was. But I understand deadlines.
Unfortunately I just couldn't believe the narrators, either one of them. Carrie just made Olivia seem way too perky and happy go lucky for a person who was supposed to be driven and serious and who was so focused on her career that she completely put her lovelier on the back burner. I mean she did a good job getting the ideas and emotions across (thanks to the writing), but it just wasn't that believable.
But Carrie was better than David. He did the whole book in this kinda weird breathy voice. It was like he was trying too hard the whole time. Maybe trying to come across as sexy, but it was just too over the top. The only character that maybe sounded remotely like he was written...probably because he didn't say much or ever chuckle, was Kane. I mean really, what the hell was that "Heh, heh, heh" thing he was doing?!?! And for a "bada$$" millionaire grump, he made Cash sound really whiny and needy when he talked to Olivia. Just sooo not in Cassian March's character!
I think it could have been wonderful with different narrators...probably better than the written book. The narrators did a good job of not letting their first words get cut off. That happens way too often in audiobooks, but only a couple times throughout this whole book.
