Summary

Una caricatura del provinciano que vive alardeando. Alfonso Daudet supo reflejar en sus obras el caracter del hombre de provincia, exuberante, alardeador y que vive en su pequeno mundo como si se tratara de el centro del universo. Ese es el caso de Tartarín, heroe de una serie de novelas de Daudet, que se inventa historias y acaba creyendolas el mismo. Por eso, cuando acaban tomandolo en serio y eso lo obliga a ir a una safari a cazar leones, cuando no ha visto uno en su vida, es un burlesco de quienes viven inventando hazanas que solo existen en la imaginacion. Los risuenos momentos que vive Tartarín, al encontrarse inesperadamente con aventuras que no imaginaba, forman la base de una de las novelas caricaturescas mas agradables que se puedan imaginar.

The author describes the character of a provincial man who is exuberant, and a show off that lives in his small world as if it were the center of the universe. This is the case of Tartarin, hero of a series of novels that keeps inventing stories that even he ends up believing.
