Summary

It bit: New York hotels cost an arm and a leg, and Terri had flown from England to help plan her cousin's wedding. The new in-laws offered lodging. But they were a weird bunch. There was the sometimes chipper, sometimes brooding Lucern, and the wacky stage-actor, Vincent. (She couldn't imagine Broadway casting a hungrier singing-and-dancing Dracula.)

And then there was Bastien. Just looking into his eyes, Terri had to admit she was falling for him - someone even taller, darker, and hungrier than the other two. She was feeling a mite puckish herself. And if she stayed with him, those blood-sucking hotel owners wouldn't get her!

Love the Argenuea series

Love these books but fell about laughing at the "British" accent of the couple in Huddersfield. A Yorkshire accent it was most definitely not.

fun

Even though the book is as humorous as the previous books, somehow it did not grab me as much with the audiobook reread. I kept on loosing my thoughts while listening and could not get into the world. It's probably because the main characters lack the quirkiness and the snark the previous book's characters had. It is still a fun book just not my favorite in the series. I think I am going to skip some books and look for the audiobook version of the book about a woman vampire who is accepted by the town and one of the enforcers is sent to deal with her. I vaguely remember that one being fun.

It's Okay...

I know the main character in this is a guy but I wasn't used to the narrator being a guy, so it was hard to get used to. Additionally, it's more of just a romance and the action is very little as opposed to some of the books in these series(they have more of a climax and action). So it's not fabulous, but not horrible either, it's just "okay".

Better than expected.

Fun! Simple and light. Well balanced on the emotional aspects of the characters. Believable enough to enjoy!!

Toothsome!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I don't know if I would recommend the audio book to a friend but I would and have recommend the book/series.

What did you like best about this story?

I love the characters and the pitfalls of wedding planning.

What three words best describe Jeffrey Cummings’s voice?

Not the best. I only bought the audio because I like the series and wanted to listen to it at work but he's okay but not my favorite. When he does the female voices it sounds corny.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

No, but wish I could have fell into the story and forgot I was listing to it. When I listen to Kresley Cole's series narrated by Robert Petkoff you completely step into the story and blissfully enjoy it all the way through.

Very Entertaining

As a second book in the series this one was much more fast paced and funny. The narrator was so much better than that in the first book. The story was very good and fun to listen to.

Slow and tedious

This has been such a drag to get through I am writing this before I have even finished! The narrator is just okay, I endured him through Single, White Vampire but at least the story was worth it, but not the case here. This story so far (and I'm already mostly done with part 1) has been trivial at best, and downright lame! Such a disappointment. Bastien was such a great character in the other books. I had so been looking forward to his story. But so far Terri is dull, and the sex appeal is about nil. So bummed out. I would not recommend wasting money on this!

Distracting performance

The story is fun, particularly the comedy of errors aspect, but the performance is distracting. The narrator seems confused about the female protagonist’s accent for the first few chapters, the male protagonist has an oddly feminine voice, and a secondary character who was characterized as a regular dude in the previous book is an annoying whiner who develops a speech impediment midway through this performance.

Not much happening...

I have to agree with another reviewer who mentioned that these books are very much a repetitive "formula". Each book in this series is the same quick meet, instant love, and vamp reveal - with almost zero character development or actual story line. Sadly nothing new or creative in any subsequent books. This is a new narrator for me and his normal reading voice is pleasant enough but the strange "nasally" accents that he attempts are extremely cringe worthy.
