Story
100,000 years ago the object hit the lake at the deepest point, quickly sinking into its mile-deep Stygian darkness. The sheets of ice closed, time moved on and the land forgot. But over the centuries, legends grew of people vanishing, of strange, deformed animals and of an unexplained luminescence down in the lake depths. When Marcus Stenson won the lucrative contract to create a sturgeon fish farm on the site of disused paper mill on the shore of Lake Baikal, he thought he had won the lottery and refused to listen to the chilling folktales....

Story
Once every year, Scoutmaster Tim Riggs leads a troop of boys into the Canadian wilderness for a weekend camping trip - a tradition as comforting and reliable as a good ghost story around a roaring bonfre. The boys are a tight-knit crew. There’s Kent, one of the most popular kids in school; Ephraim and Max, also well-liked and easygoing; then there’s Newt the nerd and Shelley the odd duck. For the most part, they all get along and are happy to be there - which makes Scoutmaster Tim’s job a little easier.

Summary
Working at a dead-end retail job in the middle of nowhere can be hard. The long hours. The helpless customers. The enormous eldritch horror living deep below the building. As the only full-time employee at the 24-hour gas station at the edge of town, Jack has pretty much seen it all. But when he decides to start an online journal documenting the bizarre day-to-day occurrences, he unwittingly attracts the attention of much more than just a few conspiracy theorists.
With the body count steadily on the rise and a dark, ancient force infecting the dreams of everyone around him, Jack will do everything in his power to stay out of the way and mind his own business. After all, he’s just a gas station clerk. It’s not like he’s getting paid enough to wage battle against the nightmarish aberrations plaguing his community. Besides, he already has his hands full attempting to manage all those mysterious lawn gnomes, the mutant raccoons, and the charming phantom cowboy who lives in the bathroom.
Based on the award-winning creepypasta by GasStationJack, Tales from the Gas Station: Volume One is a love letter to the pioneers of classic horror tailored to a generation that grew up in the era of smartphones and WiFi.

i've been following this story since i found it on Mr CreepyPasta's youtube channel a year ago. Excellent Story, Excellent Narration, i couldn't be happier it finally has an official release, i kinda miss the background music though. If you're reading this and considering getting Tales from the Gas Station, i cant recommend it enough, listen to it here first, before it becomes the next big netflix adaptation.

laugh, frown quizzically, laugh, repeat.
This was an absolute corker from start to finish. I didn't want it to end.. and look! there's another volume to dive straight into. phew! This has you questioning reality time and time again, which is incredibly impressive. (Obey the Dark God..) Honestly, my only issue with this, is the audio quality. Its very slightly muffled, at least, compared to other audiobooks I've listened to. But I couldn't remove a star because the story and narrator are just that good. The Dark God consumes us all..

My No. 1 Series
I absolutely love this series, I originally found it through MrCreepyPasta's channel and have listened to every single episode he has narrated there, so was unsure whether or not to get this book here or not. After listening to it all, it is 100% worth it, if only for the 'Halloween Incident' that has bugged me for SO long. Jack is an amazing author, and MrCreepyPasta an amazing narrator, if you love the stranger story type of creepypasta, this is definitely for you, even if you have already listened to it elsewhere.

One of my most favorite nosleep series!
I absolutely loved the original Reddit stories and when Jack said he was putting out his book I couldn't wait. I bought the book back when it came out and didn't hesitate to buy the audible version. Tales from the gas station is honestly a lot like an episode of The Twilight Zone (the old one not the new one, haven't watched that one yet.). The story itself is phenomenal and is 100x better when voiced By MCP. MCP bring life and style to all of the characters and breaths life into the story itself. I absolutely love this book and I love the narrator too! I would definitely recommend to anyone that has a dark sense of humor (or a sense of humor at all) and to anyone who likes hearing strange stories.

Narration was frustrating
The narrator’s cadence was aggravating. He’d read quickly, then at a normal pace, and take long unnecessary pauses. It made it hard for me to get into the story. The stories themselves may have been ok, but I didn’t make it through the first one before giving up due to the narration. Hence one star.

Excellent listen - both book and narrator
My friend suggested that I read this book even though it’s unlike anything I read in general or listen -whatever - but I decided to give it a whirl and I was not disappointed that I did. Between the narrator and the story this was a great listen and I can’t wait (hopefully there is one )but can’t wait for the next sequel .. this was an enjoyable listen and it’s like humor with a little bit of scary but not really scary- if that makes sense .. highly recommended!!!

Good listen
My only beef is with the engineering. Many long pauses which should’ve been edited better, also a few double lines as well as the narrator coughing/clearing his throat and tripping over his tongue. Sometimes the sound would get softer then quieter, even during the same sentence. That said, the errors didn’t detract from the overall listen, I’ll be buying volume II
