Summary
The lone survivor of a horrible shipwreck, Ealrin may be destined for greatness. He just can’t remember who he is.
Cared for by the grizzled general Holve, he discovers that Ruyn is a continent plummeting towards genocide.
Holve’s country thrives on the coexistence of elves, dwarves, and men, but rumors and bigotry push the land toward bloodshed. Drawn into the conflict, Ealrin meets Blume, a teenage girl struggling to hold onto the peace she's always known. But her family hides a secret that could change the tides of battle.
Will Earlin choose to find the past he lost? Or will he prevent the annihilation of Ruyn?

Could have been so much better
So when I found this book I was really excited to listion to it, it seemed to have everything in a fantasy book I was looking for, however this was not the case when the narrator starting to use an American accent for all the human races, a kind of italian accent for the elves and various other strange ones, I prefer to hear a fantasy book that tries to immitate the great Lord of the rings spoke with British accents,I mean a broad american accent does not sound right on a sword wielding warrior from the middle ages, yes I know its fantasy but come on it just does not sound right, its like trying to make Lord of the rings with a bunch of cowboys and red indians , and boy did this auther steal a few lines from that great book, so many it felt embaressing, For me this could have been a great series read by a narrator like Steven Brand or Derek Perkins, would love to hear it redone but I doubt that will happen

Absorbed in every chapter
The narrator does a phenomenal job with each character's tone and voice. The story's pacing is very clean. I couldn't help but feel for each character the chapter was focusing on. Can't wait to listen to book 2.

confusing
Lots of hype for the book, but the story was hard to follow, at least listening to it . chacter development was limited and over all story felt jagged not a smoth flowing story line.

Interesting, undecided though
I had a hard time trying to rate and review this book. Certain aspects(the MC backstory mystery, the overall conspiracy) are really intriguing. However, I never felt connected to the story. After some thought, my take on this is that there always seems to be some new viewpoint given to the story when the previous one has not been developed enough. When two characters meet they are never given enough time to develop any kind of bond, yet you are led to believe they are fully bonded by the consequences of the resultant storyline.
It is nitpicking, but its why the story is just average for me. Is it worth a credit...well you can certainly do worse.

Plot Line could've been more developed
I really enjoyed this Audio book but wish the Plot Line had been developed more.
