Summary

"The last person who called me 'Sweetpea' ended up dead...."

"I haven't killed anyone for three years, and I thought that when it happened again I'd feel bad. Like an alcoholic taking a sip of whisky. But no. Nothing. I had a blissful night's sleep. Didn't wake up at all. And for once, no bad dream either. This morning I feel balanced. Almost sane, for once."

Rhiannon is your average girl next door, settled with her boyfriend and little dog...but she's got a killer secret.

Although her childhood was haunted by a famous crime, Rhinannon's life is normal now that her celebrity has dwindled. By day her job as an editorial assistant is demeaning and unsatisfying. By evening she dutifully listens to her friend's plans for marriage and babies whilst secretly making a list.

A kill list.

From the man on the Lidl checkout who always mishandles her apples to the driver who cuts her off on her way to work to the people who have got it coming, Rhiannon's ready to get her revenge.

Because the girl everyone overlooks might be able to get away with murder....

Elinor Oliphant with sex and serial killing

Original insight into the mind of a psychopathic serial killer. Laugh out loud even when you know you shouldn't at her sick rantings. Chick lit with a huge bite.

Disappointing.... wasted hours I’ll never get back

This story drags out, never really climaxing or coming to a head. Sadly, this story has taken away a part of my life I’ll never, ever get back

Quite good but cringey in places

Quite amusing in places, a bit shocking in others, a bit annoying here and there and a bit corny sometimes too. A bit too much "youth" talk thrown in, made it a bit cringey but overall a decent story.

Not something I would normally read

This was a little bit different from my usual story but I really enjoyed it. I liked the way it was written as a diary and normal on the outside the main character was.
Also a little freaked out but much she sounds like my ex partner. Lol

Fluffy it aint

This is not a nice book. It's funny, dark, observant, shocking and at times worryingly relatable. But it's definitely not nice. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Sweetpea in name only!

What a brilliant and innovative book (If you can put up with much use of swear words)! A lead character you kind of like, despite her habit of bumping off people who upset her. A bizarre storyline that holds together totally thanks to the brilliant way the author writes. And all held together by the superb narration.
If you don't mind the odd murder or two, give this book a go, I'm sure you'll love it.

Is it wrong to like a serial killer?

If you could sum up Sweetpea in three words, what would they be?

A Kill List....love this idea I did feel however that Rhinannon left a few out. I would happily add to her list. I don't usually write reviews but this book had me gripped from the start...even had a few laugh out loud moments. Maybe it says more about me than Rhiannon at least she has an excuse. Great book!!

The book that retained my audible membership!

After purchasing 4 books that all left me with the feeling of "meh", I selected this one with a random stab of my finger before deciding to finally cancel my audible subscription. And I'm so glad I did. I couldn't get enough, it's thrilling, gripping, and funny. Wonderfully written and narrated!
