Summary

Lizzy Hamilton wants to skip Christmas this year. Working as a nurse and trying to save her failing marriage — to no avail — has drained her energy and joy. She’s a pro at caring for others, but she needs someone to look out for her, too.

However, when her soon-to-be ex-husband asks if she’ll spend the holidays with him so he won’t be alone, she can’t say no. Other than his Army Ranger platoon, she’s the only family he has.

Staff Sergeant Mitch Hamilton wants only one Christmas gift — his wife. Frequent deployments and training exercises kept him away from home, and he had no idea how taken for granted Lizzy felt until she asked him for a divorce. Now he must show his wife he’ll do anything to save their marriage, starting with a romantic holiday vacation to Indigo Bay.

The stakes — losing Lizzy forever — are higher than any Mitch has ever faced. This is one mission he can’t…won’t…fail.

selfless wishes

A second chance to get it right. Loved how Mitch finally gets it. I felt for Lizzy and was glad they both put the other first. Liked how this was a sweet romance about a married couple. Puts you in the Christmas spirit. I liked this book so much that I listened to it after reading it. The narration is done differently than I have encountered before. It took me a couple of chapters to adjust but once I did I loved it.

Short and sweet

I have not listened to any of the other books in the series, but that did not affect my enjoyment of this sweet holiday story.

Wonderful beginning

In this book you feel from the first till the last. The way she takes you from the first when it looked bleak until the last when they decided to try again together. You see that from being apart what they really wanted was to be together. Wouldn’t that be wonderful for everyone to do and get back the love that they had that brought them together in the first place. Happy endings are what we all want in the end. I’m glad they had there’s.

A Sweet listen

I loved everything about this book. The story is touching, the narration by Andrew Eiden & Stella Hunter is flawless, and the production quality is amazing.
