Summary

Atlantes, a lost city of intrigue to most, is Brutus' home, his curse, his prison. Doomed to an immortal life deep in the ocean, their only chance at salvation is to rescue damsels in distress from the surface world and bring them into the abyss. While mythology may label him and his kind monsters, this warrior is simply a man with needs. And he's found the perfect woman to see to them.

Something different

This book is very different to the other sea creatures books I’ve read before. With a good storyline I enjoyed it. Great performance.

Words can't express the greatness

This is the 4th audiobook in series and is just as great as the rest. It's Brutus & Laurel's story.

Brutus starts the day being depressed about his loneliness & the mer punishment. Who knew it would end in his eventual mating to Laurel. He gets so tongue tied when he speaks to her and clearly knows NOTHING about women that it's so comical. Laurel's backstory is very sad but Brutus makes her feel safe and he sparks something in her. However, she is adamant about not becoming a mermaid. When they do the inevitable, wink wink, her feelings for Brutus solidify. So much so that when "earthquakes" hits & King Lucian sends him out to check on it, Laurel goes out of her mind. Then, 4 days later, after nobody's heard from him, she does the one thing she said she wouldn't do. And just like that she becomes the hero of the audiobook. Plus afterwards, she has the best line......."Um, I really love the affliction." I laughed so hard I cried.

This is another great story by Michelle M Pillow with great narration by Rebecca Cook.

good

This was a bit shorter than the others and seemed to be a decade later than the previous books. Found that there were a few missed links that would have been nice to explain things but i believe its setting up a great climax to the series.. i hope anyway....

The fourth book in the series finds Brutus rescuing another damsel from the seas. An enjoyable book that continues the plot from the first one.

Book 4

This book follows Brutus who saves Laurel and as he tries to be honest about where she is he proceeds in frightening her. When there’s an attack on the dome Laurel knows she has to transform and go to help Brutus . The story carries through from book 1 where the psychotic queen and her crazy followers are trying to overthrow the dome and the king and I can’t wait until someone ends the queen and her crazies .

Life under the Sea

Interesting and entertaining short story. Mermen trying to resurrect their kind with women from land. I like strong women and the heroine proved that she was loving and protective.

adventure, a bit of drama and a few laughs

I’m completely enticed with this series. Definitely a must get. Hot and romantic with a bit of action and adventure. Narrator does a great job too. I promise you won’t get bored.
Wanting an adventure, so you hire a boat. Right? Wrong.
When you capsize, the drunken captain and his crew will save you, right? Wrong.
If you are looking for a book, with adventure, a bit of drama and a few laughs this series is for you.
Can't wait to read the next in this series.

Lords of the Abyss

This is the 4th book in Michelle M Pillow’s Lords of the Abyss series. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series and didn’t feel disadvantaged by that. Brutus, the strong shy alpha falls for Laurel who he rescues from the sea! Another first for me, this one with Mermen! Only criticism is that I wasn’t too keen on the way the narrator did Brutus’s voice. However, this hasn’t put me off and I will be reading more.

How is this so good

This book has such a fantastic romance story going through it, and a really strong storyline to back up the rest of the book. I can’t wait to see where this is going as it just keeps getting better each time.

Brutus and Laurel

Brutus is adorable, socially awkward alpha male. Who wants to protect and keep safe this woman who is his ward. Laurel is an independent woman, and even though she's pretty sure this sexy man is crazy, she is having a hard time avoiding him. So cute and the over all plot of the lords of the Abyss thickens!

Highly entertaining!

Loved it. Normally, Brutus is a teasing twin. Now, he is this socially awkward man-mountain, who struggles to explain the new reality to his ward. His awkwardness is our entertainment. Totally worth the whispersync.

Love it

We are back in Atlantis again and this time it's Brutus's turn to fall lol well in love away ways. It's the first time one of the damsels he had tried to save, lived being brought down to the underwater city and he found his perfect woman. That is IF he can keep all the other men away from her! And why isn't the women given a rule book for theses guys lol
Oh oops back on track while every thing might look perfect things are not safe and looks like trouble is on the way!
I love the world the author has made up. I hated to leave once the book was over! Guess I will just have to wait for the next book since I am too chicken to jump in the ocean lol.

Another favorite

This was another favorite for me. I just love this series. I think it’s my favorite by Michelle. Brutus is such a giant warrior, but being faced with Laurel after her rescue at sea, he is almost speechless and of course, everything he says comes out all wrong. This only causes her more panic. I laughed so hard at this story. I was wondering how Laurel would do the turning into a mermaid. I loved how the author used a unique way in bringing that about. If you like audiobooks, the narrator for this one is so wonderful. It made it even more real.

Another Delightful Merman Audiobook

This is now the third audiobook I've listened to in this series, and I enjoyed this one very much, nearly as much as I did the previous one that I listened to (Book 5. That one was incredibly moving because of the heroine's extreme danger at both the beginning and end of the book and the hero’s unstinting courage and faith. This one is surprisingly touching, too, and a little less steamy than the other ones--but just the right amount of steam. I love the way these mermen treat their ladies with such respect and kindness, so genuinely happy to have found ones to share their otherwise lonely lives with them. I found this book touching because of how the heroine acted courageously when she sensed that her merman was in danger. In the course of the book, at different times, they save each other. Sigh! I've grown accustomed to the narrator and how she voices the mermen and the heroines. Unfortunately, this is the last one I'll be able to listen to, as I missed a couple of the early ones. I've listened to them all out of order, but the stories still make sense within themselves, though now having listened to several of them, I've learned a lot about the mermen’s undersea world, history, and traditions. It's funny, but I never thought I would enjoy “merman” romance, but this author has a deft touch with speculative fiction, always drawing me in with well-written characters and a swoon-worthy romance. Highly recommended.

Loved It

I loved this book- even more so than the previous three. Great world building and characters. I absolutely loved Brutus. He was awkward, matter-of-fact, and just won my heart. He did not do a good job of explaining things to Laurel, but he was really sweet and wanted so much to please her. Ten years may have passed between this book and the previous, but the Olympians are up to no good again. Another fantastic narration from Rebecca Cook! Her voice is perfect.

Brutus and Laurel

When Laurel’s ship is wrecked, she is thrown into the ocean and rescued by Brutus. He takes her back to Atlantes and falls instantly in love. Laurel is frightened when he tries to explain (and not well) where she is, and her destiny. As they are getting to know each other, Mia and her witches perpetrate an attack on the dome that endangers Brutus. Will she be able to conquer her fear and transform to go outside the dome and help Brutus? This one is filled with danger, humor, and romance Atlantes style. An enjoyable addition to the series. Rebecca Cook does her usual entertaining narration.

Surrender to the sea

This is the 4th installment in this series and is Brutus and Laurels story. Though it was somewhat short I quite enjoyed their story line. I was somewhat amused with Brutus lack of knowledge when it comes to women and their wants and needs. The story starts with Brutus saving Laurel and taking her to Atlantes. There is once again the adjustment period this time for Laurel as she learns of the mer and their domed kingdom beneath the sea as well as continuing conflict with the Olympians who wish to overthrow Atlantes. It makes for an entertaining tale. When Brutus goes missing while investigating mysterious earthquakes originating outside their domed city Laurel feels compelled to find him. Will she be in time to save him? Will they get their HEA? Check out this story to find out!.

Awesome story!

I loved this story about Brutus. I loved both the characters and really enjoyed how Laurel had to be the one to end up savings Brutus in the end. I really enjoyed all the stories in this series so far and can't wait to get to the next one!.
